Svobodová, Eva January 2012 (has links)
Diploma thesis Nestinars in southeastern part of Bulgaria focuses on the material and spiritual culture of Nestinars, a small group of people living in region of Strandja. Dluhošová, Adéla January 2012 (has links)
This thesis examines the changes in perception of the child and the childhood from the Early Modern Age until today. Primarily, the thesis investigates the quality of life of infants and education advice concerning the first year of age. The historic part of the thesis addresses the changes in infant treatment depending on the social status of the mother. Further, the thesis discusses the possible origin of these changes in folk traditions and examines the role of authorities by reference to historical education guide books. Moreover, the thesis points out the influence of science and rationality on the infant treatment. Given the fact that there is no summarizing research available about the infant treatment in the 20th century, the thesis analyses different infant approaches using education guide books from this time period. Using data from a survey among contemporary mothers, which investigates their beliefs about infant education including the origin of these beliefs, the thesis aims to analyse the most popular guide books among the mothers. The findings from the research are used to outline problematic aspects of the present-day motherhood. Based on the comprehension of the historical connections, the thesis discusses the profound context of different contemporary education approaches....

Funkce chrámu jako centra nezávislého společenského života a analogie občanské společnosti / A Temple and its Functions as an Independent Social Life Centre and an Analogy to Civil Society

Heřmanová, Jana January 2018 (has links)
Religious life in Taiwan has experienced a great revival since the political relaxation in 1980's; especially the popular religion and new religious movements have been blooming. Temple festivals are growing again; restored or newly established events organized by temples emerge. There is usually one main deity in the centre of the temple cult, but there are many other deities worshipped in a particular temple as well. The temple is often a centre of a town or a village, especially in the countryside. Temples organize or at least support many activities (not only religious ones, but also sport and educational activities etc.) in villages and towns. The thesis introduces temples and their work in the field of belief. At the same time it looks at the ways a temple help people to create a local community, and what is the relationship between the state and temple cults. There is an attempt to see the potential of traditional temple religions to fulfil function similar to function of modern civil society. The thesis also introduces the development of the status of temple cults in Taiwan on the background of political and social changes during the 20th and at the beginning of the 21st century. During this period, the popular religion gradually transforms from a superstition that should be annihilated...

The submitted thesis focuses on traditionalist conceptions in the Czech interwar literature. In the First Chapter were considered some literary theories, mainly distinctions between continuity and discontinuity in literary history (modernism and anti-modernism). Author consider tradition in the dialogue with the hermeneutic theories (mainly Hans-Georg Gadamer, Paul Ricoeur and New Historicism) regarding tradition as a problem of historical meaning opposite sociological conception of tradition. Polemics about tradition related with discussions about philosophical sense of the Czech history, revision state and national traditions and also with the traditional character of literature. Indiáni Otavalo, obraz indiánske kultury v kontextu rozvoje turistického ruchu / The Otavalo Indians in thé context of the tourism industry

Pikousová, Jana January 2018 (has links)
My thesis is about the life and traditions of the Otavalo Indians in Ecuador. It aims to explain how important it is for them to be succesful in the modern world. The goal of this thesis is to find out how the Otavalo Indians present themselves in the context of their development and advancement of the travel industry in Ecuador, and the rest of the world, and what kind of means they use to achieve it. An example of this can be the way they present themselves in social media and how they are able to attract tourists to Otavalo. To answer my research question I mostly used English and Spanish literature, internet resources and social media. For the Otavalo Indians, it is important to be successful in the modern world, so as to preserve old traditions. The Otavalos are recognised as extremely competent textile makers and retail sellers who travel the world selling their products. Today, Otavalo is a modern city and a popular destination for tourists visiting Ecuador. The Market Place, where products were sold before the Incas arrived, has been modernised in order to satisfy current needs. The Otavalo Indians are deeply connected to their traditions, and therefore blend them with new technological demands and advances. The Otavalos were able to survive the dominancy of the Incas and later on of the...

Geneze rodiny v rámci postmoderní společnosti / Genesis of the family according to post-modern society

VILÍMOVÁ, Jana January 2007 (has links)
The main pillar of the family has become the couple's relationship: to satisfy individual needs and allow the possibility for self-realisation, for men and women alike. This gender position has become relevant with its influence on the whole society. Post-modern society has offered people more individual freedom and choice. The average age of groom increased from 24.6 to 28.9 and the bride from 21.8 to 26.5. In the town of Mirošovice during the period of 1974 - 1989 the average age of bride was 21.64 (period of 1990 {--} 2005 was 25.89) and groom 24.55 (period of 1990 {--} 2005 is 29.29). This confirms the assumption of hypothesis H1: Age of engaged couple entering marriage in the period of 1990 {--} 2005 is higher than in the period of 1974 {--} 1989. The aim of this dissertation is to map out the situation during the period of 1990 - 2005 and its comparison with previous years (likewise for a 15 year period, from 1974 - 1989). I have chosen a quantitative type of research and analysis of actual realities - primary and secondary data analysis, taken from the noted data files of permanent inhabitants from the town of Mirošovice. In the observed file (127 couples) there are married couples included, who have permanent addresses in Mirošovice, and whose marriages have lasted up until the 31. 12. 2005. Since the 1990s, the age difference between husband and wife has increased. There was also a rise in the number of couples where the woman was older than the man. In Mirošovice the total average age difference between engaged couples (not considering the gender of the older partner) during the period 1974 {--} 1989 was 4.49 years and during the period 1990 {--} 2005 was 3.92 years. Thus hypothesis H2 is confirmed: Age difference between partners who were married after 1990 (during the period 1990 - 2005) is less than the period 1974 {--} 1989. Also hypothesis H3: Age difference (more than 5 years) of engaged couples does not have any direct relation to the age difference of their parents, has been proved. Hypothesis H4: Age difference of engaged couples where the older partner is a woman, having direct relation to the age difference of bride or groom's parents, where the mother was older than father, has not been proved. The individualisation characterising current changes in the family bring with them, mainly to the most elderly lonely women, but also men, many social, economical, health and psychological problems.

Znalost romské kultury a tradic ve městě Tábor / The knowledge of Gypsy culture and traditions in the town Tabor

KOVÁČOVÁ, Silvie January 2007 (has links)
Following from its title, this diploma work discusses Gipsy culture and traditions, especially maps the level of knowledge comparing Gipsy and non-Gipsy inhabitants in the town of Tabor. The choice of the topic proceeds from a widely known fact involving the problematic common life of those too much different groups. Many members of the majority do not have any awareness of Gipsies being a specific group of inhabitants, having their own culture and traditions. On the other hand, the traditional life of the Gipsies has changed at all, rather has declined, especially in the field of language. Both these points of view may play an important role in one another understanding of the Gipsies and the majority. The target of my work was to map the knowledge of the Gipsy culture and traditions by the Gipsy commune and, as well, to map the knowledge of the majority. Within the framework of this, two main hypothesises were determined. The first main hypothesis assumed that the Gipsy commune in Tabor hadn´t known its tradition and culture any more. The second main hypothesis assumed that the majority hadn´t known the Gipsy tradition and culture. These two hypothesises weren´t proved because the decisive part of questioned people( both Gipsy and non-Gipsy) had known at least one element of Gipsy culture and tradition. Another important investigation was made in my work. They are specified in details in the part {\clqq}Discussion`` of my work. In consideration of the fact that nobody has ever occupied with this problem in the area of the town of Tabor, I suppose, that the points of my work may be useful for organizations that provide service for the Gipsy commune in Tabor. To make it possible, I am going to present my work on the web page of the town of Tabor.
