Desenvolvimento de um secador spray para obten??o de p?s finos de precursores de ni?bio / Production of oxalate-niobate ammonium powders through spray drying process

The dryer was intended to produce powders of controlled particle size. First, the precursor is dissolved in water to produce a solution of known concentration and then it is atomized on the spray-dryer to produce the powder. This equipment consists of a 304 stainless steel chamber, 0.48 m x 1.9 m (diameter x length), with a conical shape at the lower portion, which is assembled on a vertical platform. The chamber is heated by three 4 kW electrical resistances. In this process, drying air is heated as it flows inside a serpentine surrounding the chamber, in contrary to more traditional processes in which the hot drying air is used to heat the component. The air enters the chamber at the same temperature of the chamber, thus avoiding adherence of particles on the internal surface. The low speed flow is concurrent, directed from the top to the bottom portion of the chamber. Powders are deposited on a 0.4 m diameter tray, which separates the cylindrical portion from the conical portion of the chamber. The humid air is discharged though a plug placed underneath the collecting tray. A factorial experimental planning was prepared to study the influence of five parameters (concentration, input flow, operation temperature, drying air flow and spray air flow) on the characteristics of the powders produced. Particle size distribution and shape were measured by laser granulometry and scanning electronic microscopy. Then, the powders are submitted to reaction in a CH4 / H2 atmosphere to compare the characteristics of spray-dried powders with powders synthetizided by conventional methods / O presente trabalho consiste em projetar e construir um secador spray com a finalidade de secar precursores do tipo oxalato-niobato de am?nia para obten??o de p?s com granulometria controlada e adequados ? produ??o de carbetos de Ni?bio policristalino. Este precursor ? atualmente obtido com granulometria dispersa, e morfologia n?o uniforme. A secagem em spray pode uniformizar as propriedades de materiais que s?o dissolvidos em ?gua, gerando uma solu??o de concentra??o conhecida que ? ent?o, atomizada no secador spray visando ? obten??o do material na forma de p?. O secador ? constitu?do por uma c?mara de secagem em a?o inox 304 medindo 0,48 m de di?metro por 1,90 m de comprimento, montado em uma plataforma vertical e com formato tronco c?nico na sua parte inferior. A c?mara ? aquecida por tr?s cintas de resist?ncias eletricas com pot?ncia total de 4 kW e o ar ? aquecido ao passar por serpentinas constru?das ao redor da c?mara de secagem. O sistema foi projetado de maneira n?o convencional tendo como objetivo principal a produ??o de p?s de precursores com granulometria fina e com uma boa distribui??o do tamanho das part?culas. Foi realizado um planejamento fatorial experimental visando ? an?lise da influ?ncia de cinco par?metros (concentra??o, vaz?o da alimenta??o, temperatura de opera??o, vaz?o do ar de secagem e vaz?o do ar do atomizador) sobre as caracter?sticas dos p?s obtidos usando-se solu??es de bicarbonato de s?dio. As Caracter?sticas f?sicas foram avaliadas a partir de an?lise de ?rea superficial, DRX, tamanho e forma das part?culas, granulometria a laser e microscopia eletr?nica de varredura. Em seguida foi realizada a secagem do precursor e, os p?s obtidos foram submetidos a rea??es com CH4 / H2 com o objetivo de comparar as caracter?sticas dos p?s oriundos do secador spray e aqueles que n?o tiveram esse tratamento. Os resultados mostraram que o equipamento produziu part?culas de bicarbonato de s?dio com di?metros m?dios de 2,4 a 52,4 μm, conforme as temperatura e vaz?es de alimenta??o, e se mostrou capaz de secar precursores do tipo oxalato-niobato de am?nia sem perda de suas caracter?sticas

Inicialmente, foi apresentada a equa??o cl?ssica de Ramey descrevendo a temperatura do fluido como uma fun??o da vaz?o ao longo do po?o. Ent?o, foram descritos tr?s m?todos de c?lculo das vaz?es a partir do perfil de temperatura e o sensor de vaz?o foi modelado computacionalmente. Em seguida, foram calculadas as vaz?es em quatro po?os injetores multizonas, localizados no Rio Grande do Norte, a partir de perfis de temperatura medidos experimentalmente. As vaz?es calculadas foram comparadas ?s vaz?es medidas no campo. Os resultados preliminares obtidos nos Po?os 1 e 2 foram satisfat?rios. Nestes po?os, os erros m?ximos observados foram de 28,55% (Po?o 1) e 15,72% (Po?o 2). Entretanto, desvios significativos entre as vaz?es calculadas e medidas foram encontrados nos Po?os 3 e 4. Nestes po?os, os erros m?ximos observados foram de 536,84% (Po?o 3) e 335,54% (Po?o 4). Utilizando a expans?o em S?rie de Taylor da equa??o exponencial de Ramey, foi obtida uma fun??o expl?cita, linear, entre a vaz?o ao longo do po?o e a temperatura do fluido, sendo realizada uma an?lise quantitativa da incerteza de medi??o. A partir desta an?lise, foi observado que, devido ? baixa resolu??o nas medi??es de temperatura, a incerteza de medi??o expandida pode atingir cerca de 155,04% da vaz?o calculada. Foi ent?o apresentado um m?todo de c?lculo estoc?stico das vaz?es a partir das distribui??es de probabilidade das temperaturas medidas, atrav?s da Simula??o de Monte Carlo. As novas vaz?es calculadas apresentaram erros m?ximos de 3,67% (Po?o 1), 14,45% (Po?o 2), 14,62% (Po?o 3) e 22,29% (Po?o 4). Logo, a abordagem probabil?stica permitiu que as vaz?es injetadas fossem satisfatoriamente estimadas mesmo nos casos em que a resolu??o do sensor de temperatura era inadequada ? detec??o de pequenas varia??es na temperatura do fluido. Portanto, a metodologia de c?lculo das vaz?es injetadas a partir do perfil de temperatura do fluido foi validada com sucesso. / This thesis is a contribution to the development of flow sensors in oil and gas industry. The main objective of this work is presenting a methodology to measure the flow rates into multiple-zone water-injection wells from fluid temperature profiles and estimate the measurement uncertainty. First, the classical Ramey equation describing the fluid temperature as a function of flow was presented. Then, three methods to calculate the flow rates from temperature profile were described and the flow sensor was computationally modeled. Next, the flow rates into four multiple-zone injection-wells, located in Rio Grande do Norte, were calculated from temperature profiles experimentally measured. The calculated flow rates were compared to the measured flow rates. The preliminary results, obtained from Wells 1 and 2, were satisfactory. In these wells, the maximum errors were equals to 28,55% (Well 1) and 15,72% (Well 2). However, significant deviations between the calculated and the measured flow rates were found at Wells 3 and 4. In these wells, the maximum errors were equals to 536,84% (Well 3) and 335,54% (Well 4). The Ramey equation was expanded in Taylor Series and linearized to obtain an explicit, linear, function between the flow and the fluid temperature. Then, a quantitative uncertainty analysis was performed. From this analysis, it was observed, due the temperature sensor resolution, the expanded measurement uncertainty may achieve about 155,04% of the calculated flow rate. Then, the injected flow rates were stochastically recalculated from the probability distributions of the measured temperatures, through a Monte Carlo simulation. The new calculated flow rates presented maximum errors of 3,67% (Well 1), 14,45% (Well 2), 14,62% (Well 3) and 22,29% (Well 4). This probabilistic approach allowed injected flow rates to be estimated even in the cases where the temperature sensor resolution was inadequate to detection of small variations into the fluid temperature. Therefore, the methodology to calculate the injected flow rates from the fluid temperature profile was successfully validated.

Come hence the relevance of the theme and its constant presence in discussions on the fruits of public policies, institutional structure and economic development which are the guiding elements of this work, and noted that seeks to highlight the social demographics and most important, the most significant trends and issues pertaining to her. The assessment was initially made in all the municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte doing a verticalilza??o to the municipalities Caic?, Pau dos Ferros, Ipueira and Taboleiro Grande. Highlighting the role of a social policy through government programs, such as the Bolsa Familia Program (PBF), which creates the possibility of changes in the socio demographic profile given the importance that the action of this public policy has in shaping the regional economic reality As well as social programs and actions of the government here reported that generate mobility of people and new social demands, such as rural retirements, the benefit of continuing provision (BPC), the Program for the Eradication of Child Labor (PETI) that put on the market of population living on the margins of various forms of consumption. Accordingly, the socio economic profile of the state shows a significant improvement in their social indicators, vital education and redistribution of income, due to the significant improvement in life expectancy in the fall of school drop-out rate and the drop in indicators of Proportion Poor and destitute of the state. Where the fall in the proportion of poor and indigent is strongly associated with an increase in income, from social programs. With this transfer and redistribution of income can be gauged that occurs a strengthening of local economies and an engagement of families with the conditionalities of social programs and PETI Bolsa Familia. Our research concludes that simply raising the rents caused by transfers, presents relevant impacts on the education of young people in beneficiary families. There is no doubt that the programs of transfer income, no facing the social field, representing a mechanism to decrease the most perverse ills of poverty, social and economic inequality that is hungry. For a significant portion of the Brazilian population living below the poverty line, programs for the transfer of income are expressed directly in improving the material conditions of life and indirectly in improving self-esteem of women and all family members receiving encouraging yet the integration family. Onde a queda na propor??o de pobres e indigentes est? fortemente associada ao aumento de renda, proveniente de programas sociais. Com esta transfer?ncia e redistribui??o de renda pode se aferir que ocorre um fortalecimento das economias locais e um engajamento das fam?lias com as condicionalidades dos programas sociais PETI e Bolsa Fam?lia. A nossa pesquisa conclui que a simples eleva??o das rendas causadas pelas transfer?ncias, apresenta impactos relevantes sobre a escolariza??o dos jovens nas fam?lias benefici?rias. N?o h? d?vida de que os programas de transfer?ncia de renda, voltados para qualquer campo social, representam um mecanismo de diminui??o das mazelas mais perversas da pobreza, da iniq?idade social e econ?mica que ? a fome. Polaritons de exciton em super-redes semicondutoras

Here the medium A will be modeled by a nitride III-V semiconductor whose main characteristic is a wide-direct energy gap Eg. In particular, we consider the numerical values of gallium nitride (GaN) with a crystal structure wurtzite type. The transfer-matrix formalism is used to find the exciton-polariton dispersion relation. The results are obtained for both s (TE mode: transverse electric) and p (TM mode: transverse magnetic) polarizations, using three diferent kind of additional boundary conditions (ABC1, 2 e 3) besides the standard Maxwell's boundary conditions. Moreover, we investigate the behavior of the exciton-polariton modes for diferent ratios of the thickness of the two alternating materials forming the superlattice. The spectrums shows a confinement of the exciton-polariton modes due to the geometry of the superlattice. The method of Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) and Raman scattering are the most adequate for probing this excitations / Neste trabalho estudamos o espectro (modos de volume e de superf?cie) dos polaritons de exciton em uma super-rede bin?ria infinita e semi-infinita (tal como, ???ABABA???), onde um meio semicondutor (A), cuja fun??o diel?trica depende da frequ?ncia e do vetor de onda, alterna-se com um diel?trico comum (B). Aqui, o meio A ser? modelado por um semicondutor da fam?lia dos nitretos (semicondutor III-V) que tem como caracter?stica principal um gap de energia (Eg) direto e largo. Em particular, consideramos os valores num?ricos para o nitreto de g?lio (GaN) com uma estrutura cristalina tipo wurtzite. A t?cnica da matriz de transfer?ncia ? utilizada para encontrarmos a rela??o de dispers?o do polariton de exciton. Os resultados s?o obtidos para os modos de polariza??o s (ou modo TE: transversal el?trico) e p (ou modo TM: transversal magn?tico), usando tr?s diferentes condi??es de contorno adicionais (ABC1, 2 e 3), mais as condi??es de contorno padr?es de Maxwell.
