An increasing number of companies are creating and implementing sustainability strategies that extend beyond their own organization and consider both their customers' and suppliers' emissions in order to achieve carbon emissions targets throughout the supply chain. By comparing the sustainability strategies of 6 case companies with historical procurement data, this study investigates the difference between operational activity and the formulation of strategies. Furthermore, the underlying reasons of this discrepancy are mapped out through surveys and interviews with the case companies. The study finds a generally weak link between the strategies and actual ways of working, which primarily revolves around economic aspects. Among possible explanations for this discrepancy, the lack of a common standard for the acquisition and quantification of sustainability information, a lack of dynamic evaluation of suppliers based on transport distances, and a lack of a combination of technical knowledge and sustainability knowledge are identified as key factors. The report concludes that there is a need for common standards and systems for evaluating and quantifying sustainability in transport procurement for the sustainability strategies to be incorporated. / Allt fler företag skapar och implementerar hållbarhetsstrategier som sträcker sig utanför den egna organisationen och beaktar både deras kunder och leverantörers utsläpp för att uppnå mål om koldioxidutsläpp i hela försörjningskedjan. Genom att jämföra 6 fallföretags hållbarhetsstrategier med historiska upphandlingsdata undersöker detta arbete skillnaden mellan operativ verksamhet och strategiernas formulering. Vidare kartläggs bakomliggande orsaker till denna skillnad genom enkäter och intervjuer med fallföretagen. Arbetet finner en generellt svag koppling mellan strategierna och faktiska arbetssätt som främst kretsar kring ekonomiska aspekter. Bland möjliga förklaringar till denna diskrepans identifieras avsaknaden av en gemensam standard för inhämtning och kvantifiering av hållbarhetsinformation, en brist i dynamisk värdering av leverantörer utifrån transportsträckor samt en brist på kombinationen av teknisk kunskap och hållbarhetskunskap som viktiga faktorer. Rapporten konkluderar att det finns ett behov av gemensamma standarder och system för utvärdering och kvantifiering av hållbarhet i transportupphandlingar för att hållbarhetsstrategierna skall införlivas.
