Východní Německo 1989-2009:integrace a hospodářský vývoj / East Germany 1989-2009: Integration and economic development

Říšová, Zuzana January 2009 (has links)
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the area of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) experienced a short economic and politic transformation that resulted in reunification with the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). The original optimistic expectations of a fast and significant catching-up effect, however, soon disappeared. Even if enormously supported by West Germany, twenty years after German reunification the region has not achieved much better economic advance than the economically most successful countries in the middle and eastern part of Europe. The paper analyses the real state of the eastern German economy and its development in the last 20 years using three basic problem areas: industrial base, migration streams from the eastern to the western part of Germany and the labour market. During the course of the last 20 years, these areas has belonged to the most visible economic problems of the eastern part of Germany.

Branding potravinářských výrobků na trhu ČR / Branding of foodstuffs in the market of the Czech Republic

Průša, Přemysl January 2004 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to summarize and develop a theoretical framework for brand management, which could be usable in the business practice, and apply this framework on a reality of a chosen brand in the Czech foodstuffs - wine market. In the analytical part the aim is to analyze the current status of the chosen wine brand including its current way of brand management and further develop a new system of brand management of the chosen brand using the framework developed in the theoretical part of the thesis. The Czech foodstuffs market has been chosen, because there are no works currently dealing with foodstuffs in relation to brands and the foodstuffs market is strongly affected by the present economic development, when the consumers' purchase power is going down. Very important is the market dominace of the international retail companies together with the growing significance of the private brands. The Czech wine market is even more specific -- it still has rather generic character -- consumers do not decide upon brands, the crucial decisive factor remains the price. A Chilean brand TARAPACA is used for the application part of the thesis -- imported brands account for 50 % of the Czech wine market and TARAPACA is one of the imported brands with the biggest market share in the Czech wine market. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the theoretical fundamentals, its main aim is to develop a definition of a brand, brand identity, positioning and other brand related notions, so that it is possible to work with them in the application part of the thesis. The second part brings an overview of the most important approaches currently used for the brand value assessment -- these are evaluated and criticised in this part of the thesis -- the outcome is a new set of criteria, which can be used for brand value assessment (brand equity). In the third part of the thesis an attention is paid to the problem of brand management as a process, a part of this chapter is also an analysis of the present phenomenon in brand management -- which are private brands. The fourth and fifth chapters of the thesis are based on the application of the theoretical fundamentals on a case of the chosen Chilean wine brand in the Czech wine market. In the fourth chapter an analysis of the current situation of the chosen wine brand is performed including the brand audit according to the scheme of Scott M. Davis. A special attention is paid to the analysis of sales support promotion activities -- as regards their sales and communication impacts (impact on the brand awareness). In the fifth chapter a new complex system of brand management of the chosen Chilean wine brand for the Czech market is developed according to the scheme of Scott M. Davis.

Stádní chování investorů na akciovém trhu: Analýza mezinárodních efektů v CEE / Herd behavior of investors in the stock market: An analysis of cross-country effects in the CEE

Lerche, Vojtěch January 2019 (has links)
The thesis examines herding behavior of investors towards the market average in 10 CEE stock markets during the period 2000-2018. Least squares and quantile regression methods provide evidence of herding inside the majority of the countries. During the global financial crisis and the Eurozone crisis, the herding mentality was more intense only in Slovenia and Croatia. The thesis finds mixed results in asymmetric herding during days of positive and negative market returns. The main finding, and a contribution to the literature, is that the domestic cross-sectional dispersion of returns in the CEE is affected by the dispersion of returns of the foreign stock markets in the USA, the UK, and Germany. In addition, empirical results suggest that extreme market conditions in the U.K. market have an impact on the formation of herding forces within the CEE stock markets. Short-run arbitrageurs can benefit from collective decisions of investors that in turn drive stock prices away from their fair value, but the presence of herding undermines benefits of portfolio diversification. In the long-run, the contagious international effects may result in a severe instability of the whole region and in market inefficiency.

Dohled nad finančním trhem / Financial market supervision

Balvínová, Helena January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with supervision over the financial market and its legal framework. I chose the topic because I have always been interested in the issue concerning the financial market. This thesis enables readers to get familiarized with the current situation of the financial market supervision in the Czech Republic, European Union and three member states of European Union, i.e. United Kingdom, France and Slovakia. The Chapter One is an introduction to the theme. The second chapter deals with the basic terms used in the thesis as financial market, supervision, inspection etc. It is a theoretical part of the thesis. The third chapter examines relevant legislation of the European Union and it is dedicated to the EU financial supervision. A new structure for EU financial supervision was agreed in 2010 following the adoption of the de Larosière report in November 2008. At the beginning of 2011 the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) and three European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) were established. The purpose of the new structure is to ensure effective surveilance of the EU financial market. The ESRB is responsible for monitoring and assessing potential threats to the stability of the financial system. It can issue risk warnings when necessary, and can make recommendations for remedial action,...

Společná politika ochrany životního prostředí ve světle úpravy vnitřního trhu Evropské unie / The common policy for the protection of the environment in the light of the internal market of the European Union

Scheu, Lenka January 2017 (has links)
English abstract Protecting the environment is currently one of the complex issues of law and policy. Necessary response to adverse changes in the environment lays down binding rules on environmental protection in international law, EU law and national law. The EU internal market is secured by four fundamental market freedoms - the free movement of goods, persons, services and capital. The relationship with the environment is reflected in the quality and characteristics of the products, and the conditions under which these products are marketed in different Member States. Environmental protection is strongly linked with service area, which concerns matters such as the operation of landfills. The EU's objectives in the areas of internal market and environmental protection very often collide. Then it is necessary to find a balanced approach between the protection of environmental objectives and ensuring the economic principles of the European Union.

Lokalizovaná ekonomie jako jeden z nástrojů řešení sociálních dopadů nezaměstnanosti v Jihočeském kraji / Localized economics as one of the tools to address the social impact of unemployment in the South Bohemia region

HOFHANZLOVÁ, Nikola January 2019 (has links)
I focused on the solving of the unemployment social impacts in the South Bohemian region via located economy in my thesis. According to the latest surveys unemployment is on the lowest level from the year 1996 both in the South Bohemian region and the Czech Republic. Nevertheless, there are certain groups of people who are threatened by unemployment. Moreover, current positive development of the unemployment cannot be considered as a permanent status. My thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part I focused on the term of local economy, its tools, principles and furthermore I concentrate myself on the possibilities of incorporation people into the working process. Following part deals with global economy issues that have a negative impact on the local economy. Then I concentrate myself on the enterprise entities in the Czech Republic, their ownership structure, legal forms of enterprise and a development of business environment when a support of small and middle businesses can play an important role in the process of creating new job positions. The aim of my thesis is to map tools of local economy and a description of their usage, while emphasizing the business unit´s division, the possibilities of their development and creation of new job positions in the defined South Bohemian companies. With respect to the aim and specific characteristics of the defined group I chose a method of survey done via semi-structured interviews. Defined group is formed by chosen companies with Czech ownership in the South Bohemian region. For completing the employment data, I executed semi-structured interviews with two officers of České Budějovice Labor Office chosen with simple intentional choice. The results of my survey show that the defined companies with Czech ownership in the South Bohemian region are not enough motivated to create new job positions because (as the survey shows) the more employees they have the higher financial budget they need. Unfortunately, this extra budget is not available. Therefore, local companies cannot serve as a pillar against increase of unemployment in the context of current forms of enterprise support. The thesis may serve as a study material for students of Health and Social Faculty in the town České Budějovice or as an informational material for Labor Office CZ and representatives of South Bohemian region.
