Změny utváření zevnějšku starokladrubských koní / Changes of body conformation of Old Kladruby horses

KARDOVÁ, Lenka January 2014 (has links)
Horses have been companions to humans for thousands of years, both as work animals and as part of our culture. The Old Kladruber horse is a Czech autochthonous breed included in animal genetic resources. The aim of my thesis was to assess the gradual change in the external features of Old Kladruber horses in the years 1900 2013 in both the colour variants. I focused on 5 body measurements (height at the withers measured by tape, height at the withers measured by stick, girth of chest, girth of bone) collected for 1021 horses registered in the breed registry. The obtained values have been summarized and subsequently statistically and graphically evaluated. The results imply that values of wither height of Old Kladruber horses measured both by tape and stick have been increasing, whereas their weight has slightly dropped. In white horses, the average increase in the tape-measured wither height amounted to 3.5 cm and to 7 cm in black horses. Stick height at the withers has shown an increase ranging between 3 4.7 cm in white horses, while in black horses, the values ranged between 6 10 cm. In stallions, the chest girth was determined at 197.5 cm. White mares had a chest girth of 199.55 cm. Almost identical value, i.e. 198.13 cm, was determined for black mares. The bone girth has remained almost unchanged. A slight decrease was observed in white Old Kladruber horses stallions in the years 1970 2013 by 0.5 cm. This change was most probably caused by the addition of blood of other breeds in the past. A drop in the weight was monitored over the time interval of 1930 2013 and it ranged between 22 kg and 73 kg according to the monitored group. This drop in the weight and increase in the body frame implies a change in the type of the horse, tending rather to the sports type. However, this change can also be affected by the conditions in the environment. Only in unique cases, the values of the variation coefficient in the years 1990 2013 exceeded the limit of 10%. Groups of monitored horses of both colour variants can thus be considered balanced. In the years 1990 2013, several horses of a non-compliant standard height were also included in the breed. This was required as part of the attempt to preserve all of the existing lines and families as well as to keep the coefficient of relationship low.

Vliv technologie ustájení nosnic na produkci konzumních vajec. / The impact of layer housing technology on commercial egg production.

TOLKNER, Martin January 2014 (has links)
In this thesis the selected enterprise indicators of laying were analyzed in terms of the impact of a hen housing system. For commercial egg production in the enterprise the laying hybrid Lohmann brown-LITE hen has been used since 2011. A total of 16 laying turns were included for the observation during the period of 20112014. Due to the sufficient number of data a nine-month laying batch has been chosen. The highest average number of eggs laid by one hen for the observation period was achieved in the Profit-Tier Layer Cage System by Big Dutchman (257.0 pcs.). In the Laying battery Cage System by Kovobel the number of eggs was by 1.3 pcs lower (255.7 pcs). The lowest number of eggs was set down for laying hens kept in a cage free systems (249.2 pcs). It was 7,8 pcs and 6,5 pcs lower respectively than with laying hens housed in the cage systems by Big Dutchman and Kovobel. The highest average intensity of laying for 9-month laying period was found in the cage system by Big Dutchman (93.9%). In the cage system by Kovobel company it was 1.0 % lower (92.9 %). The intensity of laying at a cage free system amounted to 89.2 % pcs. It was 4.7 % and 3.7% respectively lower than when housed in the cage systems by Big Dutchman and Kovobel. For laying hens kept in a cage system the average consumption per hen in a day, for the observed period, was found out to be lower 117.6 g for the cage system by Big Dutchman company and 117.4 g for Kovobel. The highest average feed consumption showed 121.5 g with laying hens kept in a cage free system. The average mortality of laying hens during the observed period was 0.64 %.

Kulhání-Limitující faktor reprodukce skotu

VRABČEKOVÁ, Monika January 2018 (has links)
One of the basic conditions for achieving a positive production and meeting economic objectives in cattle breeding is their high and regular reproductive performance. Amongst the most significant factors influencing cattle fertility is the health state of heifers. To breed cattle successfully, it is essential to ensure that their feet are in a good condition, in particular hoofs. Diseased feet lead to the reduction of cattle performance and affect their welfare which results in a negative impact on cattle fertility. This thesis is concerned with the influence of cattle lameness on reproductive indicators of cows. For the purpose of the research, a group of cows from ZD Pluhuv Zdar including 843 dairy cows of the Holstein breed and Czech Simmental breed was studied. Equally, all cows originated from two different types of stabling. The following information were checked about each cow: the identification number, stabling number, breed, age, date of calving, order of lactation, performance, interim period, service period, insemination interval, insemination index and any relevant hoof problems. The impact of hoof problems on reproductive indicators that depended on the order of lactation and breed were analysed in the program Statistica using two-factor anova. It was observed that there existed a significant influence of hoof disease on each reproduction indicator. Dairy cows on the 3rd and higher level of lactation showed an evident difference in the length of the interim period. It was found that healthy dairy cows without any hoof disease had on average 385 day long interim period, whereas dairy cows with hoof problems had 398 day long interim period. It is apparent that the interim period was lengthened by 13 days in dairy cows with lameness. In addition, the values for service period and insemination index increased in the group with cattle lameness (by 17 days and the value of 3.17). In the case of insemination interval values, the difference between healthy and diseased cows was the least apparent. Furthermore, it was proven that the combination of infectious and non-infectious diseases have the greatest impact on reproduction indicators that seem to increase their value as a result. This causes a great deal of stress to an organism of an animal. When comparing reproduction indicators between breeds, it was noticeable that there was an influence on the cross breeding and how strained the Holstein breed was. The average length of interim period was 8 days longer in the Holstein breed group than Czech Simmental cattle. Furthermore, the length of the service period was 5 days longer in the Holstein cattle group. From the data, it can be concluded that any hoof disease in herds should not be neglected and stock breeders should pay increased attention to hoof problems since it could pose a risk on the whole stock breeding economics. A stock breeder should focus on the regular and careful trimming, washing and treatment of hoofs. In addition, attention should be paid to stabling and how comfortable it is for dairy cows, as well as the quality and complexity of feeding portions that are served.

Porovnání ekonomiky chovu krav ve volném a vazném ustájení / The comparing of the economics of breeding cow in the free and stanchion housing

KOTTOVÁ, Michaela January 2010 (has links)
The aim was to compare and evaluate the economics of breeding in the free and stanchion housing, in the free housing for the use of modern milking robots. The account has been taken as parameters of performance and fertility and return on investment in free housing with milking robots. The results of the holding area farming of 1800 hectares at an altitude of 500-800 meters above sea level, two stanchion housing and one free stalls, which were used in the milking robot is an economically challenging investment were evaluated in the study. All three stalls were followed for two years, the milk production and fertility were analyzed and the economics of processing the results were recorded in 1083 cows. It was found that in the stall with free housing and milking with robots, while costs increased, but compared to the breeding of stanchion housing has reached the breeding of higher productivity, lower losses and less incidence of health disorders. In the first period this activity showed a profit. In the second period, the results are affected by problems of low farm-gate milk prices, which persist to this day. Observed results suggest that the favorable economic situation of the company in terms of investment and breeding conditions can only recommend a change from a serious technology for open housing, but also the use of milking robots, which are significant savings in labor costs. However, it is necessary to allow for depreciation of new buildings and thus with the high cost of feeding cows the day or unit of production. Free housing has high performance and milk quality, was also detected in the free stall successful reproduction due to better recognize heat and favorable overall welfare of dairy cows.
