Detekce QRS založená na počítání průchodů nulou / QRS detection using zero crossing counting

Hanus, Rostislav January 2012 (has links)
This master’s thesis deals with the detection of QRS complex detection using zero crossing counts. QRS detection is an important part of the analysis of ECG signal. From the point of determining the R wave detection is based on the other waves and intervals necessary for the diagnosis of heart. This method is very effective even for very noisy signals. Implementation of the method in Matlab, and the success of detection is tested on the CSE and MIT-BIH database. The optimization algorithm is an optional value for the detector.

The effect of bedding errors on the accuracy of plate load tests

Barnard, Hendrik Francois Taljaard January 2013 (has links)
A series of plate load tests were conducted at the experimental farm of the University of Pretoria. The test areas were levelled by means of three surface preparation methods namely, i) a thin layer of plaster of Paris; ii) a thin layer of well-graded sand and iii) by using only hand tools. In addition, a modified plate load test was designed to eliminate the effect of bedding errors that occur during these tests. Telescopic probes were used to measure the relative displacement at two points below the centre of the plate. The main objective of this research project was to first quantify the bedding errors that occur during plate load tests. Secondly, to evaluate the three different surface preparation methods used in plate load tests to achieve a levelled and smooth test surface, and lastly to evaluate the effectiveness of using telescopic probes in routine plate load tests to eliminate the effects of bedding errors. The stiffness values, determined from the vertical displacement of the plate, were compared with the internal stiffness values determined by means of the telescopic probes. All stiffness values were compared with continuous surface wave (CSW) measurements performed on the same material. The test apparatus, methods and results are discussed in this dissertation. Aplicación de factores de inversión: value, volatility, quality y momentum en la Bolsa de Valores de Lima / Application of investment factors: value, volatility, quality and momentum in the Lima stock exchange

Jacinto Gutarra, Jorge Lorenzo, Agüero Baldeon, Luis Ricardo 20 July 2019 (has links)
In this thesis of application of Investment Factors: Value, Volatility, Quality and Momentum in the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL), the General Index of the Lima Stock Exchange (IGBVL) was used as Benchmark, consisting of 39 values, which by means of liquidity filters and time of quotation in the Stock Exchange were 27, due to lack of data, finally 25 values were reached. Then, the variables of each factor are defined. For the Value Factor: PER and the Price to Book. For the Momentum Factor the price momentum variable. For the Quality Factor, the variable ROE. For the Volatility Factor the variable Total Volatility. Next, procedures are applied to analyze the variables of the four factors to the data to choose those that can surpass the Benchmark. Finally, it is shown that in the last ten years that the portfolio, with values that have a PER (Variable Value Factor) ratio lower than the average of the Exchange and updating the portfolio quarterly, has a better performance than the Benchmark and the portfolio made up of companies with a PER ratio higher than the average of the Stock Exchange. The results have been framed at a 95% confidence level. / Trabajo de investigación

From Duo to Quartet : Improvisational and compositional methods in three different settings

Hjálmarsson, Björgvin Ragnar January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this project is to use different improvisational and compositional methods to compose music for a duo, trio, and a quartet. The goal is to explore the possibilities of each setting regarding the different improvisational methods and if it has an impact on decision making as an improviser. One of the factors of changing the setting is the possibilities of the various roles of each musician in each arrangement. The combination of the ensembles: Duo: Tenor saxophone and drums. Trio: Tenor saxophone, drums, and bass. Quartet: Tenor saxophone, drums, bass, and guitar. Three improvisational methods will be compared to each other: Improvisation through a melody, without written chords. Improvisation over a traditional form: Melody – solos over written chords – melody. Collective improvisation. Compositional methods: Open arrangements. Using the main instrument to compose. There will be a discussion about the different roles of the musicians in each setting and how the roles may affect the arrangements in various ways. One of the factors is to avoid the common roles as an accompanist and a melody instrumentalist in each setting. Two of the settings do not include a chord instrument and that will lead to a certain role for me as a saxophonist along with the different roles of the rhythm section. There were six rehearsals planned in total, followed by an examination concert in Nathan Milsteinsalen, Kungl. Musikhögskolan on February 23rd. /
Björgvin Ragnar Hjálmarsson - Tenorsaxofon

Bjarni Már Ingólfsson - Gitarr

Johan Tengholm - Kontrabas

Henrik Jäderberg - Trummor

REVITALIZACE A PROSTOROVÁ KULTIVACE KLÁŠTERA DOMINIKÁNŮ VE ZNOJMĚ / REVITALIZATION AND SPATIAL CULTIVATION DOMINICAN MONASTERY IN ZNOJMO

Gregorová, Ivana January 2016 (has links)
Loss of the use of religious buildings reflects the current state of today's society. In regard to the secularization of the population in recent years, the number of religious buildings preserving the original use is still decreasing. The aim of this work is to create a new spatial terms for the use of the building with respect to historical values. The project includes a strategy for the use of church buildings, which is trying to solve the problem in a wider perspective. The result is a system design housing for children and young people from foster homes and the care facilities. In three progressive stages provide them secure preparation for an independent life. Rectories and monasteries follow each other to establish a operating net. This system is applicable to multiple locations of detected territory. 1 small rectory-surrogate family 2. Large rectory- community living for limited time serving as a step between institutional care and independent living 3. Monastery-city public housing for final integrated into the wider community and independent life In three progressive stages is demonstrated on selected examples of rectories and monasteries.

Automated Enforcement Using Dedicated Short Range Communication

Kim, Gilbert 01 January 2012 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis presents a set of system algorithms and a feasibility analysis of an automated enforcement system that uses dedicated short-range communication with an emphasis on seatbelt and speed enforcement. The current seatbelt and speed enforcement limitations and disadvantages can be overcome because future vehicles will be equipped with devices that can be used to communicate with other vehicles or the traffic infrastructure. One limitation of the current seatbelt enforcement system is that it relies only on human vision. Today’s automated photo speed enforcement also has the following major limitations and disadvantages: fixed position enforcement, system installation and maintenance costs, enforcement based only on spot speed, sensitivity to lighting conditions, and vulnerability to sprays and obstructions that might block the license plates. This thesis proposes an automated enforcement system that uses wireless communication (IEEE 802.11p protocol), which can resolve all of the above-mentioned problems and is also more efficient, accurate, and cost effective.

Infant Birth Outcomes Among Substance Using Women: Why Quitting Smoking during Pregnancy Is Just as Important as Quitting Illicit Drug Use

Bailey, Beth A., McCook, Judy G., Hodge, Alexis, McGrady, Lana 22 March 2011 (has links)
Poor birth outcomes are associated with illicit drug use during pregnancy. While prenatal cigarette exposure has similar effects, cessation of illicit drug use during pregnancy is often prioritized over cessation of smoking. The study goal was to examine the impact of pregnancy tobacco use, relative to use of illicit drugs, on birth outcomes. Women were recruited at entry to prenatal care, with background and substance use information collected during pregnancy. Urine drug screens were performed during pregnancy, and the final sample (n = 265) was restricted to infants who also had biologic drug testing at delivery. Participants were classified by pregnancy drug use: no drugs/no cigarettes, no drugs/cigarette use, illicit drugs/no cigarettes, and illicit drugs/cigarette use. Groups differed significantly on infant birthweight, but not gestational age at delivery after control for confounders including background and medical factors. Among women who smoked, the adjusted mean birthweight gain was 163 g for those not using hard illicit drugs, while marijuana use had no effect on birth weight beyond the effect of smoking cigarettes. Women who used hard illicit drugs and did not smoke had an adjusted mean birthweight gain of 317 g over smokers. Finally, women who refrained from hard illicit drugs and smoking had a birthweight gain of 352 g. Among substance using pregnant women, smoking cessation may have a greater impact on birthweight than eliminating illicit drug use. Intervention efforts should stress that smoking cessation is at least as important to improving pregnancy outcomes as abstaining from illicit drug use.
