Rivelsrud, Jannike January 2023 (has links)

Ejdeklint, Ellen January 2024 (has links)
This is a survey study of students in the Swedish upper secondary school. Examining their attitudes towards film in religious studies. This thesis investigates how and why students in the Swedish upper secondary school finds that film affect their learning in religious studies. Furthermore, this study investigates how teachers can work with film in religious studies forward to promote students learning. Data were collected with a dig- ital survey and was analyzed with the aid of didactic theories (mainly the didactic trian- gle) as well as insights drawn from previous research. The results indicates that students are positive to film in religious studies, and they see many positive effects regarding their learning about religious life. Most of the students find it easier to learn when a) course content is visually represented and b) when there is variation in teaching and learning methods. The students even wanted to watch movies with sensitive content as a basis of discussion. Based on what the students voiced in the survey, we can submit that teachers can continue to work with film in religious studies to improve students learning. To do so successfully, teachers must possess knowledge of both the film in question and the stu- dents they teach. The conclusion is that students want to watch film in religious studies education to improve learning which the teachers can consider working with in the future as long as the education is varied.
