Bytí v celistvosti / Integrity Being

Křečanová, Alena January 2012 (has links)
This theoretical study attempts to reflect the general problematic of modern society in complexity, the gradual constitution and development of estranged being as well as the contemporary effort to interconnect being as an integral whole. The study also contains an analysis of altered states of consciousness, which are understood as a certain means to view the world as integrated. We use the notion of consciousness to define the altered states of consciousness. The structure of the thesis is divided into five chapters. While the first chapter is focused on description and analysis of alienation and other negative aspects of modern society, the second chapter is based on this reflection of the crisis of western society. Its subject is the work of several scientists who contribute by their works to a qualitative change of the mechanistic and materialistic conception of the world and who promote holistic approach to reality. The key topic of the third chapter is phenomenon of consciousness and interdisciplinary theories of consciousness. We deal also with the qualitative altered states of consciousness, that offer some potential. The fourth chapter concentrates on the history and methods of research of altered states of consciousness and delineates their basic characteristic and their functions. The...

Naturalizace jednoty vědomí: mohou neurovědy vysvětlit zásadní rys subjektivity? / Naturalizing the Unity of Consciousness: can neuroscience explain a fundamental feature of subjectivity?

Vraný, Martin January 2018 (has links)
Naturalizing the Unity of Consciousness: can neuroscience explain a fundamental feature of subjectivity? Martin Vraný Abstract The aim of the dissertation is to analyze the concept of the unity of conscious- ness as an explanandum for natural sciences and assess how good an explanation do leading neuroscientific theories of consciousness provide. The motivation be- hind this project is the idea that it is the unity which poses the greatest challenge for the scientific quest for consciousness. I argue in the Introduction that the reason why some theories of consciousness lead to what Dennett calls Cartesian materialism is precisely because they fail to address the problem of the unity of consciousness. If we had a good understanding of the unity of consciousness and its place in nature, we could more easily avoid the tendency to devise accounts of consciousness that are homuncular in disguise. In chapter 2 I analyze various aspects in which consciousness is thought be unified and conclude that two such aspects are particularly challenging for natu- ralizing the unity and that they cannot be treated separately. They are the unity of conscious contents at a time and the unity in the sense of a single subject having conscious contents and being able to reflect on them. Chapter 3 describes main conceptual and...

Myslet z psychedelické zkušenosti - transdisciplinární interpretace / To thin from psychedelic experiences - a transdisciplinary interpretation

Pokorný, Vít January 2016 (has links)
Pokorný, V., To think from psychedelic experiences. Transdisciplinary interpretation. Diseration Thesis, Departement of General Anthropology, Faculty of Humanities, Charles University Prague, 2016 Abstract: The goal of this text is to think from and according to psychedelic experiences. To think from psychededic experiences means to introduce a transdisciplinary model of psychedelic domain. This model is based on autoethnographic, cognitive, phenomenological and psychopharmacological types of analysis. These analyses allow to demonstrate: 1) place of psychedelics in contemporary globalised czech society; 2) possible heuristic (theoretical and experiemental) value of psychedelic experience for understanding human situation. This text interprets psychedelic experience as a process of deteritorialization and reteritorialization that occurs on different, intertwinned levels of our experience, and, thus, it is a contribution to explication of a philosophical concept of intertwinning. Keywords: psychedelic experience, transdisciplinarity, autoethnography, cognitive anthropology, anthropology of experience, enactivism, phenomenology, embodiment, analogy, intertwinning

Vědomí a nevědomí. Teoretická analýza / Consciousness and unconsciousness. Theoretical analysis

Skála, Pavel January 2011 (has links)
This theoretical study is looking into consciousness, unconsciousness and concepts that are associated with it. It also goes back to the historical approach to these two terms, yet it points out the terminological obstacles that are inseparably connected with them. Both constructs are being discussed from an integrated perspective therefore neither mapping of the neurobiology of consciousness nor the summary of the major approaches to the philosophical mind-body problem, is left out of consideration. The unconsciousness research methods are divided according to the predominant focus into experimental and clinical. The study also covers an analysis as well as a review of significant theoretical approaches to consciousness and unconsciousness. These theoretical concepts were classified based on distinction of relevant scientific disciplines that are used to describe the problems in question. Neurobiological, psychological and philosophical theories were later categorized according to this method. The final conclusion brings a complex overview of these topics previously dealt with in the study. It attempts to integrate the findings into a comprehensive framework and to deal with some general issues that indicate possibilities and limits of the theoretical and practical research into both phenomena....

Formování právního vědomí studentů vysokých škol neprávnického zaměření / Shaping of Legal Consciousnes of non-law University Students

Krupová, Tereza January 2015 (has links)
This dissertation thesis Shaping of Legal Consciousness of non-law University Students aims to explore the process of forming legal literacy and consciousness of non-lawyers mainly via education. Premise or audited issue is that didactics and methodology of law and hence connected cultivation of legal consciousness of individuals are not very effective. Thereof the starting point is the anticipated inefficiency of teaching law for non-lawyers. The thesis firstly looks for the purpose of university education today as well as the position of its students. Further the concept of legal consciousness is presented. The last two chapters confirm some hypothesis using results of researches made for this thesis. The first research focuses on university teachers of law to non- lawyers, the second one deals with universities' students and graduates.

Filosofie politického mýtu / Politics, mythos and Schelling’s philosophy of mythology

Hosnédl, Václav January 2011 (has links)
Mythos can be regarded as an (absolutely) true story about the beginning of the world. Man with the mythical consciousness understands his spiritual transcendence and perceives time as eternity. The mythical consciousness was predominant in the society at first, but in the Antiquity started being replaced with the mental consciousness that puts science on a pedestal. However, the mythical consciousness is ingrained in man. National and transnational systems -- the Holy Roman Empire, the United States of America as well as the European Community -- were created with the consciousness of mythos. Man is able to transform the mythos, as a return to the (ideal) beginning, into political visions. New mythoi can be created by abusing the original ones -- see the Nazi mythos or the Communist mythos. However, such mythoi do not work in a long run and represent the negative externalities of the mythical consciousness. The true and original mythos must be one and universal since the beginning of the world (Earth, universe) is just one as well. The synthesis of the mythical consciousness and the mental consciousness (the synthesis of spirit and science) gives rise to the integral consciousness that sees matters in a complex manner ("he, who shall not understand everything, shall understand nothing") and interconnects feelings with reason. Political visions created based on the integral consciousness and implemented based on spontaneity and democratic consensus can move the society to a qualitatively higher level.
