Vliv půdních podmínek stanoviště na výskyt obecné strupovitosti hlíz brambor / The influece of soil conditions by the occurrence of common scab of potato tubers

PETRŮ, Ondřej January 2016 (has links)
The aim of the thesis was focused on assessing the significance of the impact of habitat on the occurrence of the common scab of potatoes. In this context, following factors were evaluated: degree and extent of infestation tubers with common scab, effect of the habitat, impact of the variety, vintage influence, the influence of fertilization with nitrogen and sulfur influence seed treatment, starch content, tuber yield, the proportion of tubers over 40 mm. The review of literature of thesis includes chapters regarding the origin of potato, potato and morphological characteristics of its growth, consumer potatoes and factors that affect the quality and yield. It mentions measures against diseases and pests. The last section is devoted to common scab of potato. The practical part deals with evaluating the impact of habitat on the incidence of common scab of potatoes. The attempt was based on the habitat with the occurrence of common scab and habitats without occurrence of common scab in Vyklantice. The results were processed in program Statistica, version 12.0. (StatSoft) function of multifactor and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). At the habitat with higher pH and KVK higher incidence of common scab was recorded. It confirmed the impact of resistance of variety on the incidence of common scab. It was not confirmed statistically significant dependence on fertilizer nitrogen fertilizer LAV and seed treatment tubers with Trichoderma strains. It confirmed a statistically significant dependence on the incidence of common scab on fertilization with SulfoGranulat.

Vliv odstupu sklizně od ukončení vegetace na výskyt vločkovitosti hlíz brambor / Effect of harvest interval from the end of the vegetation potato on the occurrance Rhizoctonia cancer

ZENÁHLÍK, David January 2014 (has links)
The thesis on the topic of the influence of the time period distance of the harvest from the end of the vegetation on the occurrence of "potato fenkines on the bulbs." There were 11 varieties of the potatoes chosen for the observation. Their vegetation was terminated by the desication resource called Reglone. From the end of the terminated vegetation during 10 days until the harvest there were 4 samples taken and they were evaluated on the occurrence and it's percentage of the "potato flakiness on the bulbs" in accordance with the scale of Wenzel and Demel (1976). There were there varietes selected for the evaluation; Flavia (VR), Riviera (VR), Rosara (VR), Merida (R), Adéla (R), the Baccara (R), Marabel (R), Ditta (PR), Laura (PR), Maréna (PP) and Saturn (PP). The achieved results of the "potato flakiness" weere evalunted statistically. The aim of the evlution of the ("potato flakiness on their bulls") Rhizoctonia solani. The term of the vegetation termination depends on the grover and must be in written documentation. The harvest alome can follow after the the drawal period in the desiccation resource, which uswally 15 days. The results indicale that whem the harvest of the potatoes is made at the proper time after the termination of the vegetation, the potato bulls are withhout any largen percentage accurence of the "flakiness". The results achieved during the years 2012 and 2013 indicate that in early implementation off all the working operations important for the potato growing, which begin with sorting out, followed by plantig, care, chemical sprays, selection, parades, desiccation and the harvest, the "flakiness" dinďt exceed 5% of the occurence. Another results indicate that the taken bulls were undamaged and the difference of the occurrence of the "flakiness"on each sample appeared in a variety of ways. The years of abseving the experiment proved that there was an increase in the "flakiness" on the surface for a given time period.

[en] A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF LITERATURE ON THE PRODUCT VARIETY MANAGEMENT IN THE RANGE FROM 2005 TO 2009 / [pt] REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DA LITERATURA SOBRE GESTÃO DA VARIEDADE DE PRODUTOS NO INTERVALO DE 2005 A 2009

BEATRIZ MOREIRA PANCIERI 30 August 2011 (has links)
[en] Product variety has received great attention from industry and academia, where the determination of the number to be offered to the final customer is an important decision for the business strategies of companies. There is a clear trend in the proliferation of this variety, however, the impacts generated by this increase are prompting companies to seek different ways to manage it, on both supply and demand. Despite the existence of important studies on the subject, the academic literature reveals the absence of a survey that summarizes the state of the art on the Product Variety Management (PVM). As a result, this research aims, through a systematic review, to develop a content analysis on GVP, using publications between the years 2005 and 2009 presented in a specific electronic database (Elsevier). The review is guided by a conceptual model (framework) proposed that includes inputs for a PVM, i.e., the various internal and external pressures for companies to increase or reduce the product variety offered, the different ways to handle these different pressures (structure and process) and outputs, outcomes that are expected with a good management. The framework also includes a fourth dimension that incorporates the context in which the articles developed their research. The results suggest that the proposed framework is able to address major topics related to Product Variety Management, assisting in the development of systematic reviews, identifying the issues broadly addressed and the gaps that deserve special attention by the academy for future research.

Generalized Phase Retrieval: Isometries in Vector Spaces

Park, Josiah 24 March 2016 (has links)
In this thesis we generalize the problem of phase retrieval of vector to that of multi-vector. The identification of the multi-vector is done up to some special classes of isometries in the space. We give some upper and lower estimates on the minimal number of multi-linear operators needed for the retrieval. The results are preliminary and far from sharp.

Three Essays on Buyer Power, Market Structure and Government Subsidies

Ding, Hong January 2013 (has links)
Chapter 1: Downstream Competition and the Effects of Buyer Power The first chapter examines the interaction between buyer power and competition intensity in the downstream market in affecting consumer and total welfare. We study a model where oligopolistic retailers compete in quantity in the downstream market and one of them is a large retailer that has its own exclusive supplier. Negotiation between this retailer and its supplier is modeled as a generalized Nash bargaining game. We demonstrate that an increase in the buyer power of the large retailer against its supplier leads to a fall in retail price and consequently an improvement in consumer surplus and this is true even in the extreme case where the downstream market is served by a monopoly. More interestingly, we find that the effects of buyer power are large when the intensity of downstream competition is low, with the effects being the largest in the case of downstream monopoly. This suggests that buyer power and downstream competition are substitutes. Chapter 2: Subsidy, Product Diversity and Buyer Power The objective of the second chapter is to analyze the effectiveness of government subsidies in promoting product diversity when the downstream firm (a retailer) has buyer power. We extend the standard Dixit-Stiglitz model of monopolistic competition and compare the effects of subsidies on equilibrium number of product varieties and social welfare in the case where products are sold directly to consumers and the case where they are sold through a monopoly retailer with buyer power. Two types of subsidies are considered, a subsidy on marginal cost and a subsidy on fixed cost. We find that while the two types of subsides have different effects on the quantity and retail price of each variety, they both raise the number of product varieties and the social welfare. Moreover, a combination of the two types of subsidies is able to achieve the social optimum. These results are true even when products are distributed through a downstream monopoly retailer who has all the bargaining power, but the mechanism through which a subsidy increases product varieties is different. In comparison with the case where products are distributed directly to consumers, retailer buyer power reduces product variety and social welfare. Furthermore subsidies become less effective in the presence of buyer power. To be more specific, retailer buyer power has both a level effect and a marginal effect on product diversity. At any given subsidy rate, the equilibrium number of varieties is smaller and a marginal increase in subsidy leads to a smaller increase in the number of varieties. Chapter 3: Subsidy on Complementary Products in a Model of Monopolistic Competition The third chapter seeks to re-examine the market provision of product diversity under monopolistic competition and the effects of an infinitesimal subsidy on product variety and social welfare in the case of complementary products. This examination builds on the standard Dixit-Stiglitz model of monopolistic competition but assumes an alternative demand linkage. The results show that, different from the case of substitutable products, demand complementarity leads to multiple equilibriums and the number of product varieties could be higher or lower than the constrained optimum depending on the level of the fixed cost of production. When the fixed costs are small, the market yields too many products and an infinitesimal subsidy exacerbates the problem leading to an over-supply of product varieties. On the other hand, when the fixed costs are large, there are too few products and in some cases the complementary goods industry becomes non-existent. A subsidy that induces a switch of equilibriums enhances product variety and improves social welfare.

Clientele variations and urban nightclub locations; a case study of Vancouver

Gill, Warren George January 1972 (has links)
This thesis is concerned with the relations between clientele variations, as indexed by appearance and behavior, and nightclub locations in Vancouver, B.C. Nightclubs are marketers of experiential products where the customer is part of the entertainment. The sociological and psychological literature suggest that a person's appearance and behavior at entertainment activities are a reflection of his self image and are components of his life style. Retail location studies indicated that self image and life style are important factors in a customer's selection of stores at which to shop. Thus appearance and behavior of clientele can be assumed to be a differentiating factor between nightclubs. Two working hypotheses were advanced: 1) that in general nightclubs with similar clientele group together in urban space; and 2) in some cases nightclubs will group together to permit something akin to comparative shopping. A rating instrument was developed to unobtrusively measure seven variables (hair, clothing, facial decoration, companionship, dance, drink, and age) that together describe the appearance and behavior of clientele at nightclubs. The instrument had two subsections, one for male and another for female subjects. The development and testing of the instrument was one of the major tasks of the thesis. Cross tabulations and examination of responses to selected variables indicated that relationships did exist between the categories of the seven variables, for both male and female subjects. It was therefore concluded that there were a number of identifiable client types implicit in the nightclub population. The nightclubs were classified by a hierarchical grouping technique on the basis of similarity of clientele. Both male and female groups showed a definite segmentation along appearance and behavior lines; the male groups also corresponded closely with the entertainment policies of the nightclubs. Further examination indicated that the nightclub groups were spatially defined into seven subdistricts within the C.B.D. and in terms of a core-frame pattern. Four of the subdistricts were determined to be composed of nightclubs with similar clientele, the remaining three subdistricts contained clubs with different yet not incompatible clientele. At a more aggregated scale of five subdistricts, four were shown to have similarities in clientele. The core-frame pattern revealed that there were two groups of clubs with similar clientele; dance and floor show clubs in the core of the C.B.D., and clubs marketing nude entertainment in the frame. This pattern was confirmed by an analysis of the quality of the nightclub sites. The analysis of nightclub locations confirmed that, as hypothesized, definite spatial patterns could be determined from variations in clientele appearance and behavior. A comparison of the male and female group structure indicated that the males were more useful in segmenting the market. It was suggested that this situation was a reflection of the social dominance of the male in choosing entertainment activities. / Arts, Faculty of / Geography, Department of / Graduate

Rozmanitost organizací ve vybraném území (sociologická studie) / Variety of Organizations in a chosen Locality (a sociological study)

Havránek, Aleš January 2010 (has links)
The impact of organizations on society , the social environment , life and the world is omnipresent. We see that the organization not only affect their internal and external environment , but also with one another and it is this fact led me to question the influence that extinction regionally dominant organization of the diversity of organizations in the area of its activity - increased or decreased ? The answer to this became the reason for choosing the theme and aim of my thesis . In the theoretical part of the thesis deals with a sociological conception of organizations such as certain social and economic structures of formal and informal arrangements, with different objectives , responsibilities and culture. In the practical part of the thesis identify selected areas, identifies and extracts information sources , to determine criteria for analyzing reports and performing analysis of the obtained outputs according to established criteria provides the reader with an overview of the range of organizations in the selected area . Analysis of the outputs according to the criteria of date , accepted hypothesized that disruption of territorial dominant organization in 2008 resulted in an increase in the diversity of organizations in the Světlá nad Sázavou town.
