They call it competence, and it is for sale : Decisions and effects of master vendor arrangements

Land, Mia-Berentje, Busatlija, Emina January 2016 (has links)
Background Temporary work agencies have been around for several decades. An emerging outgrowth from these has been expanding in the industry, known as master vendor arrangements. Furthermore, much research has been devoted to the usage of temporary working agencies but less attention has been devoted to the master vendor arrangements and the consequences from using such an arrangement. Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore the strategic decision of implementing a master vendor arrangement offered by a consultant brokerage firm and the impact of such a decision on the company. Method This study is using an inductive approach, where the empirical findings are gathered through semi-structured interviews as well as corporate documents. The empirical findings are collected trough an interview study and analysed through a template analysis. The theoretical framework helped us build our constructs from which we have structured the overall themes in our semi-structured interviews. Conclusions An implementation of a master vendor arrangement is complex and can generate several consequences. In this study we identify six major consequences that end clients have experienced. By considering these factors a greater understanding of how to look upon a master vendor arrangement can be formed.

The research of green vender rating system¡GThe study of IC assembly industry.

Tsai, Shu-fang 05 July 2005 (has links)
As the awareness of environment consciousness, European Union passed the The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive(WEEE) Directive on October, 2002. According to this directive, private households will be able to return their WEEE to collection facilities free of charge and producers(manufacturers, sellers, distributors) will be responsible for financing these facilities from August, 2005. After that, EU passed The Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Directive into law. It affects manufacturers, sellers, distributors and recyclers of electrical and electronic equipment containing lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chrome, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). After 2006 the use of these materials will be banned in new products sold in Europe. The execution of these two directives will force electronic industry change the attitude that place importance on quality specifications to increase some environmental specifications. Some IC assemblying companys started to implement green supply chain and establish green purchasing specifications to follow the market trend. Vender selection is very important portion in the supply chain management. Base on the green purchasing request, the criterions also need to be revised. This research is trying to establish the green vender selection criterions and find out the weighted point of each criterions by Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) method. The purpose of this research is to set up a green vender rating system that can be applied to the IC assembly industry.

VMI - informationsutbyte i koncernrelationer

Lifvenforth, Erica, Lindvall, Anna, Wrejde, Therese January 2007 (has links)

The Right to the City from a Local to a Global Perspective : The Case of Street Vendor and Marketer Organizations in Urban Areas in the Copperbelt, Zambia

Jongh, Lennert January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to investigate the workings of multi-scalar networks that connect informal economy organizations that are active locally, nationally and internationally. The study adopts a „right to the city‟ framework wherein the relation between the local and the global is discussed. The main questions that were addressed in the research were (I) how do local, national and global networks among street vendorsand marketers and their organizations shape the resistances of street vendors andmarketers and (II) how do local, national and international networks amongorganizations that work for street vendors and marketers contribute to street vendors‟ and marketers‟ claims to the rights to the city. Qualitative interviews were conducted with street and market vendors operating from urban areas in the Zambian Copperbelt as well as with organizations dealing with market and street vendors in the samegeographical area. Results showed that networks operating on different geographical scales served the street and market vendors as well as their organizations different purposes. Findings are related to the relative importance of the global for the local as well as contemporary theories of democracy and citizenship.
