The research of green vender rating system¡GThe study of IC assembly industry.

Tsai, Shu-fang 05 July 2005 (has links)
As the awareness of environment consciousness, European Union passed the The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive(WEEE) Directive on October, 2002. According to this directive, private households will be able to return their WEEE to collection facilities free of charge and producers(manufacturers, sellers, distributors) will be responsible for financing these facilities from August, 2005. After that, EU passed The Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) Directive into law. It affects manufacturers, sellers, distributors and recyclers of electrical and electronic equipment containing lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chrome, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). After 2006 the use of these materials will be banned in new products sold in Europe. The execution of these two directives will force electronic industry change the attitude that place importance on quality specifications to increase some environmental specifications. Some IC assemblying companys started to implement green supply chain and establish green purchasing specifications to follow the market trend. Vender selection is very important portion in the supply chain management. Base on the green purchasing request, the criterions also need to be revised. This research is trying to establish the green vender selection criterions and find out the weighted point of each criterions by Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) method. The purpose of this research is to set up a green vender rating system that can be applied to the IC assembly industry.

Abstract Along with the continuous merging innovations and break-through technologies on the development of stem cell study, there are more researching resources in the global market which have been invested in the studies of stem cell, and consequently stem cell can be utilized in more and more different fields. A professional biotechnology research institution; Jain PharmaBiotech, predicts that the market scale of stem cell collection and storage worldwide will reach 100 million US dollar in year 2010. Since the concept of stem cell application was introduced into Taiwan, a trend on the storage, and research and development of stem cell from cord blood has progressively arisen. The market of stem cell application will become more popular and the whole industry will be more well developed, especially when Taiwan Department of Health will allow the transplant of stem cell of cord blood being categorized into the ordinary surgical treatment, surgeons will have more experience on stem cell transplant and more successful cases will be conducted in the near future. However, the quantity of stem cell in cord blood and the chance of self-utilization have been the concerns and been questioned by the public now and then. Therefore, Bionet Corp. has been promoting a ¡§Donatable Family Banking (DFB)¡¨ project from middle of year 2004 and trying to address the above concerns. DFB project is expected to deliver the outcomes in protecting the self usage right of self payment clients on the stem cell saving of cord blood, and increasing the value and opportunity on the utilization of stem cell at the same time. Moreover, DFB project shall also be able to combine the advantages of public donation and self-saving, in order to increase the utilization rate on stem cell of cord blood, simultaneously not to cause any big financial burdens from the huge storage expenses, and eventually to reach a win-win situation between donators and service providers. In order to further verify the feasibility and confirmation of this innovative DFB project, a Analytical Hierarchy Process will be applied through analyzing the perspectives of economy, technology and medical ethics. Key terms Stem Cell; Cord Blood, Donatable Family Banking, Analytical Hierarchy Process

ABSTRACT In recent years, the iPhone and iPad enter to the market; lead the rapid growth of the touch panel. Taiwan is the largest 3C products OEM base in the world. Therefore, many foundries have invested in the production technology and process development of touch panel, but there are too many competitiors so that the average price will be dropped in the future and the profit willdecline too. Hence, the touch panel foundries should try to face the problems of increase yields, reduce costs and robust profits. In this study, the author selected the ¡§Taiwan Touch Panel Industry¡¨ as the research object. Then, collect, collate, generalization and analysis the literature of¡§Key Successful Factors¡¨, combined with interviews of experts and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) questionnaire. The AHP questionnaire is designed by selection of assessment criteria, and filled by the manufactures. According to the summarization of AHP method to make a comparative and sort weights. And base on the results to give the conclusuins and recommendations. The study proposes five dimensions and 28 key success factors and future development trends. The author finds that the importantance of each aspect as fllows: the production capacity (38.9%), innovation capability (22.2%), financial planning ability (16.4%), marketing planning capacity (11.9%), human resource management (10.6%). By analysis results, the study gives the recommendations as below: 1. The cost and experience is the motive of technology innovation and development of touch panel industry. 2. Equally emphasize of materials and technology development trends.

Application of Analytical Hierarchy Process on the Research of Discussion of the Performance Appraisal of Room Attendant in Hotel Industry

Liu, Kuo-Hsiung 20 June 2005 (has links)
If ¡§People¡¨ are the most important source of an enterprise, undoubtedly, the most important asset of hotel industry is its working staffs. The measurement of asset requires a perfect internal management system to operate it normally, in which an important management tool is to apply the system of performance management, which could introduce the operation of performance appraisal correctly and effectively, and to develop HR asset of hotel industry higher and have more competition value. This research starts from the discussion of literature theory and the expert interview of hotel industry, and then uses Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to design questionnaire and makes questionnaire survey. It is expected to extract the important perspectives of performance appraisal of room attendant in hotel from the investigated statistic data, and then develop standards for performance appraisal. Finally is to collect performance appraisal indicator of hotel room attendant and the weight of each indicator, and propose to hotel industry as reference. This research established the framework and weight of performance appraisal indicator of room attendant in hotel industry, and discovered that the priorities of the second hierarchy level indicator of the performance appraisal of room attendant in hotel industry in turns are work result, behavior feature and personal feature; in which the work result almost made up half of the total weight. Therefore, it could be seen that work result is the most important one in the performance appraisal of room attendant in hotel industry; in particular, for the service oriented hotel industry, the work result presented by staffs is the critical factor to evaluate whether the working staffs offer the service quality comply with the requirements of the company or not.

Tools for Multi-Objective and Multi-Disciplinary Optimization in Naval Ship Design

Demko, Daniel Todd 24 May 2006 (has links)
This thesis focuses on practical and quantitative methods for measuring effectiveness in naval ship design. An Overall Measure of Effectiveness (OMOE) model or function is an essential prerequisite for optimization and design trade-off. This effectiveness can be limited to individual ship missions or extend to missions within a task group or larger context. A method is presented that uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process combined with Multi-Attribute Value Theory to build an Overall Measure of Effectiveness and Overall Measure of Risk function to properly rank and approximately measure the relative mission effectiveness and risk of design alternatives, using trained expert opinion to replace complex analysis tools. A validation of this method is achieved through experimentation comparing ships ranked by the method with direct ranking of the ships through war gaming scenarios. The second part of this thesis presents a mathematical ship synthesis model to be used in early concept development stages of the ship design process. Tools to simplify and introduce greater accuracy are described and developed. Response Surface Models and Design of Experiments simplify and speed up the process. Finite element codes such as MAESTRO improve the accuracy of the ship synthesis models which in turn lower costs later in the design process. A case study of an Advanced Logistics Delivery Ship (ALDV) is performed to asses the use of RSM and DOE methods to minimize computation time when using high-fidelity codes early in the naval ship design process. / Master of Science

Exploring housing preference of young adults– With focus on largest cities in Sweden / Utforskning av unga vuxnas boendepreferenser i Sverige –Med fokus på största städerna

Kim, Mijin January 2020 (has links)
For the last decades, numerous researchers have studied housing preferences of populations. However, very few researchers put highlight on young adults in Sweden and their housing preference. From a Swedish perspective, it is worthwhile to investigate housing preferences of young adults as the populationof young adults is consistently growing and their roles as dynamic consumers are crucial in the housing market. This thesis aims to examine housing preference of young adults aged 18 to 30 in largest cities in Sweden by comparison to older age groups. By identifying housing attributes highly valuedby the young adults, the research shall provide guideline to practitioners withfuture housing development to attract the young generation. The research is a quantitative study with application of a survey method. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method forms a foundation of thequestionnaire design, enabling to observe young adults’ trade-off decisionsamong multiple housing attributes. Total 767 responses are collected and the responses with valid consistency ratio (CR) are selectively used in the analysis. The result demonstrates that young adults have high preference for ‘low price’,‘proximity to public transportation’, ‘balcony’, ‘feeling of safety’ and ‘proximity to work or school’ in a housing decision. On the contrary, they show little interest in ‘neighborhood environment’ and ‘sustainable aspects’ of an apartment in general. In comparison with older age groups, young adults have higher preference for the proximity of an apartment and having a dishwasher;yet their preferences for ‘cleanliness’, ‘green space’ and ‘separate kitchen’ of adwelling are lower than the older generation. The practitioners shall keep these findings in mind when planning and designing apartments for the young consumers.
