This thesis offers an overview of essential trends in the field of enterprise information systems. It analyses trends in separate parts of information system, as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Business Intelligence (BI). Then it follows trends like cloud computing, virtualisation, enterprise mobility and Web 2.0.

This thesis deals with the process of Capacity Management. The main objective of the process is to ensure sufficient capacity of existing infrastructure to support daily business operations and projections of future capacity based on the requirements of the business. In the first part the author focuses on the basic performance characteristics of the Capacity Management coming within the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). Also, the author analyzes the process of Capacity Management in an unnamed company and compares it with the best practices of ITIL. The second part is derived from the first, where the author discusses the Business Capacity Management and management of the capacity of IS/ICT. The last part of thesis is about Cloud Computing technologies from the Capacity Management point of view, as well as the introduction of such technologies in selected company. Each part consists of both theoretical backgrounds from diverse sources, as well as practical experience of the author.

PlanetLab Server Manager je aplikace, která pomáhá uživatelům realizovat projekty zaměřené na vývoj aplikací pro distribuované sítě. Aplikace primárně umožňuje vyhledávání serverů podle jejich geografické polohy a umožňuje přístup na tyto servery a jejich vykreslení na mapě. Práce čtenáře seznámí se síťí PlanetLab a její infrastukturou. Dále popisuje aplikaci PlanetLab Server Manager (také známou jako plbmng) a identifikuje problémy v její aktuální verzi. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na řešení identifikovaných problémů a specifikuje provedená vylepšení do aplikace. Také je v ní pomocí nově přidané funkcionality provedena analýza stavu sítě PlanetLab. Tato práce se zaměřuje na vylepšení stávající funkcionality tím, že je aplikace plně přepsána do jazyka Python 3. Kvůli stávající implementaci v jazyce Bash, jehož vlastnosti se od jazyka Python liší, bude nutné kompletně přeplánovat stávající funkce aplikace, aby bylo plně využito výhod jazyka Python. Aplikace je také rozšířena o možnosti filtrování serverů na základě jejich stavu a další vylepšení. Zdrojové kódy aplikace jsou dostupné na repozitáři GitHUB pod licencí MIT a dále je aplikace dostupná v repozitářích PyPI.

The thesis deals with selection of infrastructure virtualization platform focusing on containerization with sandboxing support and with following examination of its difculty. The work begins with an explanation of the basic technologies such as: virtualization, cloud computing and containerization, along with their representatives, that mediate the technology. A special scope is defned for cloud computing platforms: Kubernetes, OpenStack and OpenShift. Futhermore, the most suitable platform is selected and deployed using own technique so that it fullflls all the conditions specifed by thesis supervisor. Within the difculty testing of the selected platform, there are created scripts (mainly in the Bash language) for scanning system load, creating scenarios, stress testing and automation.

Fault tolerance is essential in a production-grade service delivery network. One of the solution is build a clustered environment to keep system failure to a minimum. This thesis examines the use of high availability and load balancing services using open source tools in GNU/Linux. The thesis discusses some general technologies of high availability computing as virtualization, synchronization and mirroring. To build relatively cheap high availability clusters is suitable DRDB tool. DRDB is tool for build synchronized Linux block devices. This paper also examines Linux-HA project, Redhat Cluster Suite, LVS, etc. Content Delivery Networks (CDN) replicate content over several mirrored web servers strategically placed at various locations in order to deal with the flash crowds. A CDN has some combination a request-routing and replication mechanism. Thus CDNs offer fast and reliable applications and services by distributing content to cache servers located close to end-users. This work examines open-source CDNs Globule and CoralCDN and test performance of this CDNs in global deployment.

The thesis is focused on the new IT trend – virtualization. Below are described the types of virtualization, as well as different implementations of it. In the following chapters there will be described the TCP and ICMP protocols, as well as the SSH services. The last part of this work is dedicated to measurements where there will be highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of virtualization.

The thesis aims on a proposal of server infrastructure utilization within a particular organization based on a virtual environment. Analysis of current company’s IT infrastructure was chosen as a starting point for subsequent draft of suitable server consolidation solution that includes all necessary aspects from server configuration up to virtual environment conversion itself. Price calculation and benefits of proposed solution are listed at the end of the thesis.

This dissertation discusses the link between media and religion, specifically about the connection between media type which is provider of religion and the nature of religion. This work also represents the most important church media and religious channels in the world and in the Czech Republic. The first goal of this work is to prove that religion still has big influence on society and that's the reason, why is religion in media so often. This thesis discusses the new way of delivering IT services over the Internet widely known as cloud computing. In its opening part, cloud computing is put into a historical context of the evolution of enterprise computing, and the dominant issues the IT department faces today are mentioned. Further, the paper deals with several components that make up the architecture of cloud computing and reviews the benefits and drawbacks an enterprise can have while it adopts this new model. One of the primary aims of this thesis is to identify the impact of the technology trends on cloud computing. The thesis brings together four major computing trends, namely virtualization, multi-tenant architecture, service-oriented architecture and grid computing. Another aim is to focus on two trends related to IT infrastructure that will lead to fundamental changes in IT industry. The first of them is the emergence of extremely large-scale data centers at low cost locations, which can serve tremendous amount of customers and achieve considerable economies of scale. The second trend this paper points out is the shift from multi-purpose all-in-one computers into a wide range of mobile devices dedicated to a specific user's needs. The last aim of this thesis is to clarify the economic impact of cloud computing in terms of costs and changes in business models. This work deals with virtualization of computer systems and network cards in high-speed computer networks, and describes implementation of the SR-IOV virtualization technology support in the COMBO network card platform. Various approaches towards network card virtualization are compared, and the benefits of the SR-IOV technology for high performance applications are described. The work gives overview of the COMBO platform and describes design and implementation of the SR-IOV technology support for the COMBO platform. The work concludes with measurement and analysis of the implemented technology performance in virtual machines. The result of this work is the COMBO cards' support for the SR-IOV technology, which makes it possible to use them in virtual machines with wire-speed performance preserved. This allows future COMBO cards to be used as accelerators in the networks utilizing the Network Function Virtualization.
