I en fältstudie på en förskola studeras förskolebarns användande, upptäckande och undersökande av förskolans vardagsmiljö med hjälp av digitalkamera. Syftet med detta är att visa hur förskolebarn, med kameran som hjälpmedel, vill och kan berätta om sin verklighet och vardag inom förskolans kontext. Det handlar också om att göra barnens röster hörda samt att bidra till ökade kunskaper om barns vilja och förmåga till tänkande, berättande och kultur- och kunskapande. Frågeställningarna är; Hur berättar barnen om sin vardag på förskolan med hjälp av digitalkamera? Vad tar barnen för bilder?  Vad berättar barnen om och med sina bilder? Undersökningen har en poststrukturalistisk teoretisk ram där, barnen ses som kunskapande aktörer och medskapare till förskolediskursen. Det empiriska materialet analyseras med hjälp av diskursanalys och materialets multimodala funktioner beskrivs med text och bild. Resultatet av underökningen visar på barnens förmåga att kommunicera och planera sina undersökningar. Studien visar också hur tankarna som produceras om förskolan, barnet och samhället är en del av det som producerar tanken om barn och barndom, något som barnen både accepterar och gör motstånd mot. / This is a fieldwork in a Swedish preschool that describes how children use, develop and investigate the everyday environment in preschool with digital cameras. The aim is to show how preschool children, with the digital camera as appliance want’s to tell their own story about the daily life that they are a part of at the preschool. It also contains the allowance to let the voices of the children to be heard, and contribute to the knowledge of the children’s intension and ability of thinking, narration during their production of culture and knowledge. The research questions are; How does the children communicate their everyday life in preschool with digital camera? What kind of pictures does the children produce? What do the children tell us by their pictures? The theoretical framework contains poststructuralist theories in which the children are actors and co-producers of the reality that constitutes the preschool. The empirical material is analyzed with discourse methods. The multimodal function of the material is described in texts and pictures. The result shows the ability of the children to cooperate and plan their investigations. It also shows how the conceptions of the preschool, child and the society that the children are a part of, does produces the culture of childhood and also the resistance against it, by the children.
