The educator probably didn ́t think it was worthwhile to have any lengthy philosophicaldiscussions : A study on educators' experiences of adults' harassment towards children

Asplund, Erik January 2023 (has links)
In the interaction between educators and children in preschool, harassments occur that have a negative impact on children's psychological well-being. This thesis is a phenomenological interview study with the aim of exploring educators' perceptions of harassments in preschool. The empirical material that has been collected for this study consists of interviews with pedagogues from a Swedish preschool. The interviews have been conducted with fictitious cases about children who are violated as a basis for discussion. With a phenomenological approach, the focus of the study is to describe harassments as it appears to the participants. In the study, it appears that educators use their own subjective experience to perceive harassments against children, but rarely take explicit support from the preschool's governing documents.
