En SWOT-analys av teknikerna HTML5 och Flash / A SWOT-Analysis of the HTML5 and Flash techniques

Hansson, Patrik, Sabanovic, Damir January 2011 (has links)
Program: Systemvetarutbildningen

Visually representative web history browser : a thesis submitted to the College of Creative Arts, Massey University, New Zealand, as fulfilment for the degree Master of Design

Hodgkinson, Gray January 2007 (has links)
The familiar computer graphic user interface (GUI) makes extensive use of visually representative devices such as folders and files. These symbols help the user deal with computer data and operations that otherwise have little or no physical form. The computer’s underlying complexity is symbolised for the user, who is then able to manipulate the computer by interacting directly with the interface. The early development of computer interface design was largely the domain of software and hardware developers. Many sound principles of user interaction and testing were established and provided essential guidance for new generations of interface designers. As computer technology and its tools became more widely available, a broader range of designers began contributing, including those from product design and visual communication. This study is written from the point of view of a “visual designer” – a designer who began his career in graphic design and who has moved towards interface design out of curiosity and a desire to proffer a different attitude and approach to interface issues. The study therefore will demonstrate a design process that many visual designers will be able to identify with. The process includes research, analysis, methodical progression and artistic inspiration. The artistic inspiration in this case comes from the Constructivist artist El Lissitzky, and will illustrate the significant contribution that art can make to interface design. This art-influenced design process was presented at the 2005 Ed-Media World Conference on Educational Multimedia, (Montreal, 2005). The enthusiastic response and discussion provided encouragement to continue in this direction. In the following year another presentation, which included the working prototype, was presented as part of a keynote speaker presentation at the 2006 Siggraph Taipei Conference, National Chiao Tung University, Taipei. The specific task chosen to work with in this study is that of Web browser history. As a user browses the Web the computer records a list of visited websites. The first few generations of browsers presented this information as a simple list, but this approach incorporated many flaws and caused problems for users. More recent browsers provide more options, but significant issues remain. This study offers solutions to several of these problems. The resulting design prototype is named “isoBrowser”. It is the result of the alternative design process outlined above and offers alternative methods of visualising, organising and manipulating data. The prototype is not intended to be fully functional nor “live”. However, it is sufficiently operable so as to test interface interaction and user response. A fully functional version, operably and aesthetically complete, would be the subject of further development.

Användare, säkerhet och webbläsare : Ett gränssnittsproblem / Users, safety and web browsers : An interface problem

Eriksson, Ida, Lundgren, Johanna January 2014 (has links)
I denna uppsats beskrivs gränssnittsproblematiken i dagens webbläsare. / In this paper we describe the problems with today’s web browsers within the interface. We are aiming to investigate whether or not the browser interface inhibits users from putting their personal safety settings. A great amount of everyday tasks are performed via the browser, for example banking transactions or uploading images on social media. Therefore the need of a browser user interface that can communicate different security levels and settings so that all users can understand and use the settings that are offered. With the help of theoretical starting points, we seek answers to any shortcomings in the browser interface through user studies. By observing and interviewing our subjects, we concluded that there are flaws in the browser that need to be developed. We want our thesis to open up for discussion in which we want to convey the importance of the users’ needs to feel safe in the browser interface to assimilate information about their own safety.

Podpora JavaScriptu v zobrazovacím stroji HTML / JavaScript Support in an HTML Rendering Engine

Loskot, Radim January 2014 (has links)
This Master's thesis was written to create the extension for an experimental rendering engine CSSBox about scripting support in JavaScript language. In the theoretical section the thesis describes the architecture of the rendering engine and introduces problems of the scripting in HTML documents according to the recommended HTML 5 specification. This thesis deals with thorough analysis of existing scripting engines and their interfaces, which could be used for the extension implementation. Depending on the knowledge gained from the previous parts this thesis focuses only on the scripting engine Rhino and introduces an abstract design of its integration into the CSSBox project. At the end it evaluates the reliability and efficiency of the implemented functionalities and considers possibilities of their further development.

Vyhledávač údajů ve webových stránkách / Web page data figure finder

Janata, Dominik January 2016 (has links)
The thesis treats automatic extraction of semantic data from Web pages. Within this broad problem, it focuses on finding values of data figures within the page presenting certain entity (e.g. price of a laptop). The main idea we wanted to evaluate is that a figure can be found using its context in the page: the words that surround it and values of the attributes of the containing HTML tags, class attribute in particular. Our research revealed there are two types of contemporary solutions of this problem: either the author of the Web page must inline semantic information inside the markup of the page or there are commercial tools that can be trained to parse a particular page format (targetting pages from a single Web domain). We examined the possibilities of developing a general solution that would - for given entity - find its properties across the Web domains using text analysis and machine learning. The naïve algorithm had about 30% accuracy, the lear- ning algorithms had the accuracy between 40 and 50% in finding the properties. Despite the accuracy is not acceptable for a final solution, we believe it confirms the potential of the idea. Keywords: Web pages data extraction 1
