In the recent decades, a significant demographic shift is underway, with increasing life expectancy and falling fertility rates, causing a change in the age structure of populations. This introduces a problem for the sustainability of many modern social systems, which rely on funds from the economically active population to pay for the increased expenses of the elderly population. Over the last few decades, two scenarios that would alleviate the problem have been proposed. One is the compression of morbidity or healthy ageing, which assumes that a large part of the gains in life expectancy will be spent in good health, thus reducing the pressure on the healthcare system. The other being the concept of death-related costs hypothesis which assumes that a large portion of the older populations healthcare costs is tied to the death of the individual, which would mean that the increasing life expectancy would just shift the existing healthcare expenses to older age at the same rate as the increase in life expectancy. The diploma thesis contains a comprehensive view of the health system in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1995-2015. The main aim of this work is to establish recommendations for improvement of the Czech health system based on the evaluation of the findings on the German health system. The partial aims of the diploma thesis are the characteristics of the health system and the analysis of income and expenditure in health care in Germany. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is focused on the information obtained from professional literature. In particular, it describes the different concepts related to healthcare and its financing. The second chapter focuses on the economic concept and the issue of the health system. The third part contains a description of the country's health system. Here are also some selected data about Germany, organization or authority at federal, state and local levels. The fourth chapter deals with the insurance market in Germany. The fifth part summarizes the fundamental reforms of the health system of the Federal Republic. The last chapter is an analysis of income and expenditure of the health system. This section analyzes the data available from statistics from the German Statistical Office or from multinational organizations such as WHO, OECD or the World Bank.

This thesis deals with the most severe problems and the factors that affect the health care system in the Czech Republic. Lately there is an increase in financial expenses on health, mainly due to the aging of population. Another problem is the inefficiency of the use of these funds. The aim is to analyze these serious problems and factors affecting Czech health care system. The theoretical part characterizes the basic concepts related to health care systems, typology of these systems, health care system as an economic good and state interference in the system due to the specific characteristics of this market. In this part there is also the introduction of the historical development of the system. The practical part analyzes the most important issues and factors that affect the health care system of the Czech Republic, financing of the system and its comparison with systems in the Netherlands and the USA. Also, there are recommendations that could contribute to improving the situation.

Distributive justice in the health sector in the context of the rationalization of health care This paper should briefly introduce the major principle of health service in the Czech Republic but also practised in most developed countries. Distributive justice is a system of accumulating and redistributing wealth in order to seek balance in society. In health sector it is most commonly associated with rationing i.e. distribution of limited and costly medical sources among those who are in need of medical care in a justifiable way. Not to be mistaken distributive justice with social justice even though there is a fine line between the two. The thesis is divided into fifteen chapters each describing certain aspect of distributive justice in the health sector or a related issue. Opening chapters are dedicated to theoretical, historical and philosophical overview; following part contains single elements of distributive justice both in general and in context of health care. Issues of medical standards and regulatory charges are discussed in subsequent chapters with regard to recent case law of the Constitutional court. Deutsches Resümmé Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit befaßt sich mit der Schweigepflicht von Angestellten des Gesundheitswesens der Tschechischen Republik. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei bei der Erfassung der Verantwortlichkeit im Strafrecht der Tschechischen Republik. Diese Diplomarbeit gliedert sich in 7 Kapitel. Die Einleitung befaßt sich mit der Erklärung der Grundbegriffe und gibt einen kurzen Überblick über historische und territoriale Zusammenhänge. Im darauffolgenden ersten Kapitel werden die Rechte der Patienten, sowie deren gesetzlicher Schutz behandelt. Das zweite Kapitel erörtert die rechtlichen Grundlagen in der Tschechischen Republik, wie auch die internationale Rechtslage. Das dritte Kapitel widmet sich den Subjekten der Schweigepflicht. Im vierten Kapitel versuche ich den Umfang der Schweigepflicht abzugrenzen. Das fünfte Kapitel behandelt Ausnahmen hinsichtlich der Schweigepflicht im tschechischen Gesundheitswesen. Der Schwerpunkt dieser Diplomarbeit wird im sechsten Kapitel erörtert: die Rechtsverantwortlichkeit von Angestellten des Gesundheitswesens bei einer Verletzung der Schweigepflicht. Hierbei lege ich die Betonung auf die im Strafrecht festgelegte Rechtsverantwortlichkeit. The clarification of investment opportunities is an important part of the investment decision. This thesis identifies and evaluates investment opportunities in the international health care market. The overall attractiveness of the sector is assessed based upon the analysis of selected subsectors, the definition of investment opportunities and risks, the profitability of shares and the flow of the private capital investments and the foreign direct investments in health care. In conclusion, health care is evaluated as an important source of significant and diverse investment opportunities in every developed economy.

The thesis examines health care system in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In the beginning there is characterised the United Kingdom and its present structure of health care system including assessment of individual functions of system's parts. Then there are analysed sources of finance and their development between 1999 and 2009. The thesis continues with analysis of expenditures where is traced their development between 1999 and 2009 including international comparison. Next there are introduced methods of financial resource allocation into segments of health care system. In the last chapter there are pointed pros and cons of British health care system out and chosen certain components for application in Czech Republic.

Úvodní část se věnuje popisu zpracovaného zdravotního zařízení. V teoreticko-metodologické části je popsána analýza nákladů a teorie bodu zvratu. V aplikační části jsou uvedeny výsledkové údaje nemocnice, jejich roztřídění, zpracování a doporučení změn pro oddělení. V závěru pak vyhodnocení a doporučení změn pro management.
