In Sweden, about 60% of the working population works full-time (SCB, 2016). With a full-time job, it can be challenging to find time to be physically active, which is an important aspect of human well-being. According to Miller et al. (2016), physical activity has a positive effect on health. Being physically active prevents, for example, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and stroke. The purpose of this study is therefore to investigate people’s physical activity habits, especially related to work. In the thesis, the study will answer three important research questions on the subject using a quantitative survey, as we want to gather many responses in a short period. We sent out the survey to people in our vicinity and also posted it on our social media to gather more responses. The results were then analyzed in SPSS to compile the respondents' answers. The study is a quantitative study and 32 people participated in the survey, 18 (56.2%) were men and 14 (43.8%) were women. The results mainly show that people with a full-time job find it stressful and difficult to be as physically active as they would like to be. In a question regarding whether respondents feel tired before or after work, there is a clear correlation with those who reported working full-time.The results also show that women are more motivated to be physically active than men. Additionally, work hours significantly affect how respondents perceive their motivation, with the majority of respondents working daytime feeling more motivated to be physically active compared to those working evening shifts or shift work. From the results, we can conclude that people with full-time jobs feel less motivated to be physically active compared to those working part-time, and that work hours play a significant role in motivation. Keywords: health promotion, physical activity, stress
