The purpose of this thesis is to investigate what’s written about how libraries treat people with disabilities, in this case communication and/or language disabilities and if there is something written about library and Alternative and Augmentative Communication. (AAC). The design of the investigation is a so-called scoping review. A life in the round theory by Elfreda Chatman was used as well as international Classification of Functioning and the empowerment concept. Six articles were found and included in this thesis. The main result is the importance of training and education of the librarians in combination with a supportive management.
