Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / It s known that the increase of chronic-degenerative diseases prolongs the hospitalization time of patients, and the cares with their health require the preparation
and qualification of the familiar for the home care. Therefore, the insertion of the relative caregiver in the care to the hospitalized sick person becomes each more
frequent and necessary. Within this approach, the objectives of this study are: to describe and to analyze the insertion of the relative caregiver in the cares to the
hospitalized adult, in the view of the nursing team, and to discuss the importance of his insertion for the hospital nursing care. This is a qualitative research, conducted in the Medical Clinic Unit II, at University Hospital of Santa Maria, with the participation
of 14 members of the nursing team. For the production of the data, it was used the Creative and Sensitive Method (CSM) and the dynamics of creativity and sensitivity:
the Tree of Knowledge, Sewing Stories and Almanac. It was used, for data analysis, some assumptions of French Discourse Analysis. Thus, the data were organized in
two chapters: the first approaches the facilities and the difficulties in the insertion of the relative caregiver in the cares to the adult, from the perspective of the nursing
staff. The first chapter presents the following themes and subthemes: the indispensable presence of the companion; the relative caregiver, as a support for the patient; the care, attention and comfort, as ways of taking care; the companion s contribution in the cares; aspects related to the companion s singularity; the lack of involvement of the companion; the uncertainty of the companion during the
hospitalization of the sick person. The second chapter discusses the implications for nursing care in the insertion of the relative caregiver which are presented with the following themes: the relative caregiver getting capacitation for home care, the formation of support networks among the companions during hospitalization; and the burden of the relative caregiver. The data showed that the nursing team considered the relative caregiver a partner in care activities and his presence is valued and
considered a form of care. It was also found that the companions seek to prepare themselves, during hospitalization, to home care and seek support in the people closest. / Sabe-se que o crescente aumento das doenças crônico-degenerativas prolonga o tempo de internação dos doentes, e os cuidados com sua saúde exigem o preparo e a capacitação do familiar para o cuidado domiciliar. Assim, a inserção do
familiar acompanhante no cuidado ao doente hospitalizado torna-se cada vez mais frequente e necessária. Dentro deste enfoque, os objetivos deste estudo são os seguintes: descrever e analisar a inserção do familiar acompanhante nos cuidados ao adulto hospitalizado, na ótica da equipe de enfermagem, e discutir a importância de sua inserção para o cuidado de enfermagem hospitalar. Trata-se de uma
pesquisa qualitativa, realizada na Unidade de Clínica Médica II, do Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria, com a participação de 14 membros da equipe de enfermagem. Para a produção dos dados, utilizou-se o Método Criativo e Sensível
(MCS) e as dinâmicas de criatividade e sensibilidade: Árvore do Conhecimento, Costurando Estórias e Almanaque. Foram utilizados, para a análise dos dados, alguns pressupostos da análise de discurso francesa. Desse modo, os dados foram
organizados em dois capítulos: o primeiro aborda as facilidades e as dificuldades para a inserção do familiar acompanhante no cuidado ao adulto, sob a ótica da
equipe de enfermagem. No primeiro capítulo são apresentados os seguintes temas e subtemas: a presença indispensável do acompanhante; o familiar acompanhante, como apoio para o doente; o carinho, a atenção e o conforto, como formas de
cuidar; a colaboração do familiar acompanhante nos cuidados; aspectos relacionados à singularidade do acompanhante; a falta de comprometimento do acompanhante; a insegurança do acompanhante durante a internação do doente. O
segundo capítulo trata das implicações para o cuidado de enfermagem na inserção do familiar acompanhante que são apresentadas a partir dos seguintes temas: o acompanhante capacitando-se para o cuidado domiciliar, a formação de redes de apoio entre os acompanhantes durante a hospitalização; e a sobrecarga do familiar acompanhante. Os dados demonstraram que a equipe de enfermagem considerou o familiar acompanhante um parceiro nas atividades de cuidados e sua presença é valorizada e considerada uma forma de cuidado. Constatou-se também que os
acompanhantes procuram instrumentalizar-se, durante a hospitalização, para os cuidados domiciliares e buscam apoio nas pessoas mais próximas.
