Atlikta labai daug tyrimų, kurie patvirtina tikslo orientacijų ryšį su akademiniais pasiekimais, mokymosi motyvacija, elgesio ir emocijų problemomis bei mokyklos aplinka, tačiau nedaug yra žinoma apie tikslo orientacijų ryšį su paauglių intelektiniais gebėjimais bei savęs vertinimu. Taip pat trūksta informacijos apie globos namuose augantiems paaugliams būdingas tikslo orientacijas bei jų veiksnius. Šio tyrimo tikslas buvo įvertinti globos namų auklėtinių intelektinius gebėjimus, akademinius pasiekimus, elgesio ir emocijų problemas, savęs bei mokyklos aplinkos vertinimą. Taip pat išsiaiškinti globos namų auklėtiniams būdingų tikslo orientacijų veiksnius. Tirti globos namuose augantys paaugliai (n = 34). Tikslo orientacijos buvo vertinamos sukurtu klausimynu; meistriškumo tikslo orientacijos skalės α = 0,62, o užduoties atlikimo tikslo orientacijos skalės α = 0,67. Vaikų elgesio problemų aprašu buvo vertinamos globos namų auklėtiniams būdingos elgesio ir emocijų problemos. Juos pildė paauglių klasės auklėtojai, globos namuose dirbantys socialiniai darbuotojai (arba psichologai ar auklėtojai). Intelektiniai gebėjimai buvo vertinami, atliekant WISC-III intelekto testą. Taip pat buvo pateikiamas savęs vertinimo klausimynas, kurio α = 0,89, ir mokyklos aplinką vertinantis klausimynas, kurio α = 0,74. Still, there is not a lot of information on the link between goal orientations and intellectual abilities of adolescents as well as with their self-esteem. Also, there is not enough information about the factors that may influence goal orientations. One of the aims of this research was to estimate the intellectual abilities, academic achievements, behavioral and emotional problems, self-esteem and school environment of the adolescents, living in foster home. Also, to clear up, what are the main factors, that may influence the goal orientations of adolescents, living in foster home. Adolescents, living in foster home (n = 34) took part in this research. The goal orientations were assessed by means of questionnaire, in which there were mastery goal orientation scale (α = 0, 62) and task performance goal orientation scale (α = 0, 67).
