Previous issue date: 2005 / Resumo: O Rio Breu é o marco oficial do ¿fim¿ do Brasil, no estado do Acre. Último afluente do Rio Juruá em território nacional, o Rio Breu faz a fronteira por linha d¿ água com o Peru. Inicialmente, território indígena e, sucessivamente, território peruano, acreano, brasileiro e parte da Reserva Extrativista do Alto Juruá, a Foz do Breu é exemplar para questionarmos a noção corrente de fronteira. Uma forte rede social transpassa os moradores da Foz do Breu. São filhos, netos e bisnetos de três irmãos: Roseno, Raimundo e Ernestina Rodrigues da Silva. Ernestina, nossa personagem central, chega na Foz do Breu por volta de 1940, como empregada do patrão Cândido Ferreira Batista que lá mantinha um entreposto comercial ou barracão desde meados de 1908. Casa-se com o filho do patrão, Dulcílio Ferreira Batista e após o falecimento do sogro e do marido conduz uma vasta rede de interações sociais que asseguram a ¿soberania brasileira¿ na região há um século. Redes que envolvem populações indígenas, como os Huni Kuin e Asheninka, peruanos e outros vizinhos. Ao acompanhar as estratégias de ocupação na região, em particular, as promovidas pelos Ferreira Batista e Rodrigues da Silva procuro demonstrar como e em que medida, estratégias narrativas orais e escritas e estratégias familiares como os casamentos e o compadrio combinam-se e interagem na justaposição e regulagem dos dinâmicos territoriais e geopolíticos em questão / Abstract: The River Breu is the official landmark of the "end" of Brazil, in the state of the Acre. Last tributary of the River Juruá in domestic territory, the River Breu makes the border for ¿linha d¿água¿ with Peru. Initially, aboriginal territory e, successively, Peruvian territory, native of Acre, Brazilian and part of the Extrativist Reserve of the Upper Juruá River , the region of the Foz do Breu is exemplary to question the current notion of border. When following the strategies of occupation in the region, in particular, promoted for the Ferreira Batista and Rodrigues da Silva I look for to demonstrate as and where measured, strategies verbal narratives and familiar writings and strategies as the marriages and the compadrio are agreed and interacted in the juxtaposition and regulation of the dynamic territorial and geopolitical limits in question. One strong social net tranfers the inhabitants of the Estuary of the Breu. They are children, grandsons and greats-grandson of three brothers: Roseno, Raimundo and Ernestina Rodrigues da Silva. Ernestina, our central personage, it arrives in the Estuary of the Breu for 1940 return, as used of the Cândido master Blacksmith Baptist who kept a commercial warehouse or large cabin there since 1908 middle. It is married the son of the master, Dulcílio Ferreira Batista and after the death of the father-in-law and the husband leads a vast net of social interactions that assure the "Brazilian sovereignty" in the region have a century.
