The purpose of this study is to analyze if the grammatical features in two different teaching materials correlates to the grammatical difficulties that pupils with other native languages beside Swedish might have. A subsidiary purpose of the study is to examine how these grammatical features are covered. The aim of the study is to answer following questions:• What grammatical features are covered in two different teaching materials? -To what extend are the grammatical features covered?• Do the grammatical features in the teaching materials correlate to the difficulties that pupils with other native languages beside Swedish might have? Earlier studies have showed that a lot of the grammatical difficulties and errors that are made by learners occur in grammatical features that differ from the learner’s native language. To overcome and to prevent this learners must be made aware of these grammatical features that differs. This study shows that there was no clear correlation between grammatical features in the teaching materials and the grammatical difficulties that might be of problem for learners with different native language besides Swedish.
