Previous issue date: 2016 / Este estudo tem como tema de investigação a proficiência em Matemática. Para isso partiu-se da seguinte questão: Quais os fatores que influenciam o desempenho em Matemática dos alunos do 9º ano do ensino fundamental, das escolas públicas estaduais de Mato Grosso, a partir da análise dos dados da Prova Brasil de 2013? Isso resultou na elaboração do objetivo geral que consiste em analisar os fatores que, possivelmente, interferem na proficiência escolar objeto deste estudo. Outros objetivos mais específicos foram elaborados: selecionar questões dos questionários contextuais da Prova Brasil; relacionar a Proficiência obtida em Matemática com as variáveis selecionadas; Identificar os possíveis fatores que interferem na aprendizagem dos alunos. Os teóricos que fundamentaram o estudo foram: Horta Neto (2007), Freitas (2007), Rocha (2013), Bonamino e Sousa (2012), Franco e Bonamino (2001), Macêdo (2011), Soares (2004, 2005, 2007); Soares e Alves (2013), Castro (2009), Palermo (2011), Andrade e Soares (2008), Alves, Soares e Xavier (2014), dentre outros. A metodologia utilizada foi a quantitativa, na qual pautou-se nos estudos bibliográficos e nos softwares estatísticos IBM SPSS (IBM Corp. Released 2015, 2015) e no software livre R (R Core Team, 2015) para organizar a base de dados e, posteriormente, avaliar as variáveis que interferem na proficiência do aluno. Os resultados mostram que os fatores que mais explicam essa proficiência são a reprovação, a defasagem idade/ano escolar, a classe social dos alunos, a escolaridade dos pais, o incentivo dos pais aos estudos e o nível socioeconômico das escolas.<br> / Abstract : This study has as its research theme the proficiency in Mathematics. For that, the following question was asked: Which factors influence the performance in Mathematics of the 9th grade students of the state public schools of Mato Grosso, based on the data analysis of the Brazil Test of 2013? This resulted in the elaboration of the general objective of analyzing the factors that possibly interfere in the school proficiency that is the object of this study. Other more specific objectives were elaborated: to select questions from the contextual questionnaires of Prova Brasil; To relate the Proficiency obtained in Mathematics with the selected variables; Identify possible factors that interfere with student learning. The theorists who founded the study were Horta Neto (2007), Freitas (2007), Rocha (2013), Bonamino and Sousa (2012), Franco and Bonamino (2001), Macêdo (2011), Soares (2004, 2005, 2007 ); Soares and Alves (2013), Castro (2009), Palermo (2011), Andrade and Soares (2008), Alves, Soares and Xavier (2014), among others. The methodology used was quantitative, which was based on bibliographic studies and statistical software IBM SPSS (IBM Corp. Released 2015, 2015) and free software R (R Core Team, 2015) to organize the database and, Later, to evaluate the variables that interfere in the student's proficiency. The results show that the factors that explain this proficiency are disapproval, the age / school year gap, the social class of the students, the schooling of the parents, the encouragement of parents to study and the socioeconomic level of the schools.
