Projections of techno science say that we are about to reach an advanced state of mankind, some of them even speaking of an anthropological rupture through technological development. With technically improved and disease free human beings, with an indefinitely long life. The pursuit for longevity is not something new in the human history; on the contrary, over time we can find several examples of how men and women sought to achieve this goal. Nowadays, the search for a longer life's lies mainly in the techno scientific development, their knowledge and increasing manipulation capacity of the human body at the molecular and genetic level. However, the increase in life expectation of a society has demographic, economic and social security consequences as we find ourselves in increasingly older societies. With more retired individuals and probably a smaller portion of the economically active population. Thus, it provides for an overhaul in the way we think not only the relationship of man to his body, life and death. But also the very old age, retirement and even labor market, aiming at solving the problems of suppression of the economically active portion of the population on a more long-lived society. What we propose is to study the impact of technologies applied to the body in order to prolong their youth and to identify and analyze some of the consequences of increased human longevity that we have witnessed today. Instead of being interested in a study of what might be the future of man, we are concerned with the changes that are announced in a concrete way and are already for some time, the interest of researchers in the humanities and who already have consequences and problems in current days. We, therefore, propose to study this theme and give an overview of the body and technical relationship to view more specific aspects of the relationship of modern man with his body, old age and death, and consequently the social and sociological implications. / A ambivalência da ação do homem sobre o mundo e sobre si mesmo, levanta inúmeros questionamentos acerca das consequências reais e possíveis das transformações que presenciamos. As projeções da tecnociência dizem que alcançaremos um estado avançado da humanidade, alguns chegam a falar em uma ruptura antropológica via técnica, com indivíduos tecnicamente melhorados, livres de doenças e dispondo de uma vida indefinidamente mais longa. A busca pela longevidade não é algo novo na história da humanidade, pelo contrário, ao longo do tempo podemos encontrar diversos exemplos de como homens e mulheres buscaram alcançar tal objetivo. Nos dias atuais a busca por uma vida mais longa tem como principal motor o desenvolvimento tecnocientífico, seu conhecimento e cada vez maior capacidade de manipulação do corpo humano a nível molecular e genético. Contudo, o aumento da expectativa de vida de uma sociedade, tem consequências demográficas, econômicas e previdenciárias na medida em que nos vemos diante de sociedades cada vez mais velhas, com mais indivíduos aposentados e possivelmente uma menor parcela economicamente ativa da população. Com isso, prevê-se uma reformulação no modo como pensamos não apenas a relação do homem com seu corpo, a vida e a morte. Mas também a própria velhice, a aposentadoria e até mesmo mercado de trabalho, visando solucionar os problemas de supressão da parcela economicamente ativa da população diante de uma sociedade mais longeva. O que nos propomos a estudar é a incidência das tecnologias aplicadas ao corpo com o objetivo de prolongar sua juventude e identificar e analisar algumas das consequências do aumento da longevidade humana que podemos presenciar já hoje. Longe de estarmos interessados em um estudo sobre o que pode vir a ser o futuro do homem, nos preocupamos com as mudanças que se anunciam de modo concreto e que já são há algum tempo, do interesse de pesquisadores das ciências humanas e que já apresentam nos dias atuais consequências e problemáticas. Propomo-nos, portanto, a estudar esta temática e traçar um panorama da relação corpo e técnica para visualizar os aspectos mais específicos da relação do homem moderno com seu corpo, a velhice e consequentemente a morte e as implicações sociais e sociológicas.
