Previous issue date: 2013-03-26 / This Master thesis aims providing a thematic mapping of part of the knowledge produced in scientific literature in the field of information science related to the cyberculture. The articles on cyberculture published in the scientific journals Information Science and Perspectives in Information Science are the object of this research study. The specific objectives try to present and contextualize cyberculture, understood here, as social organizations originated from technological advances after the outbreak of World War II, and discuss from the selected content, the main theme of the inflections. The sampling gathered 57 serial numbers covered the period 2001 to 2010. We selected 181 scientific articles that address the topic in question. The strategy adopted in addition to research and review literature, was the thematic analysis. The theoretical perspectives that have echoed in the context of the research were the postmodern (Lyotard, Harvey, Jameson and Kumar), the utopia of communication (Breton), critical theory of communication post-Frankfurt School (Sfez), the sociodromology (Virilio), the epistemology of critical cyberculture (Trivinho), among other aspects of proximity and theoretical coherence. Finally, the results of studies led to the conclusion that the myth of digital inclusion and democratization of access revolves around the theme of cyberculture in the field of Information Science / A presente Dissertação de Mestrado tem como objetivo principal realizar um mapeamento temático de parte do conhecimento produzido na literatura científica no campo da Ciência da Informação, referente à cibercultura. Os resumos dos artigos sobre cibercultura publicados nos periódicos científicos Ciência da Informação e Perspectivas em Ciência da Informação são o corpus da pesquisa. Nesse sentido, os objetivos específicos buscam apresentar e contextualizar a cibercultura aqui entendida como organização social de época originada dos avanços tecnológicos posteriores à eclosão da Segunda Guerra Mundial; e discutir, a partir do conteúdo selecionado, as principais inflexões relativas ao tema. A amostragem reuniu 57 números de periódicos referentes ao período de 2001 a 2010. Foram selecionados 181 artigos científicos que abordam o tema em questão. A estratégia metodológica adotada, além da pesquisa e revisão bibliográficas, foi a análise temática de tais artigos pelos seus resumos e palavras-chave. As perspectivas teóricas utilizadas no contexto da pesquisa foram o pós-moderno (Lyotard, Harvey, Kumar e Jameson), a utopia da comunicação (Breton), a teoria crítica da comunicação pós-frankfurtiana (Sfez), a sociodromologia (Virilio) e a epistemologia da crítica da cibercultura (Trivinho), entre outras vertentes de proximidade e coerência teórica. Por fim, os resultados dos estudos levaram à conclusão de que o mito da inclusão digital e da democratização do acesso orbita em torno da temática da cibercultura na área da Ciência da Informação
