Previous issue date: 2014 / Esta dissertação de mestrado tem como objetivo compreender a formação das representações sociais sobre desenvolvimento territorial sustentável, tendo como foco os integrantes do Grupo da Rede Ecovida de Agroecologia, no município de Nova Trento-SC. Este trabalho é resultante de uma pesquisa qualitativa, na qual foram utilizadas, como técnica de coleta de dados, a análise documental, observações diretas e entrevistas em profundidade com agricultores, seus familiares e técnicos que lhes dão apoio. Como referencial teórico e epistemológico, destacamos as contribuições de Ignacy Sachs na conceituação do desenvolvimento territorial sustentável, e de Serge Moscovici com a Teoria das Representações Sociais, que foi a base da metodologia utilizada nesta pesquisa, juntamente com Ângela Arruda (quanto à interpretação de representações sociais) e Alvesson e Skoldberg (quanto à metodologia reflexiva). Buscou-se combinar a metodologia de interpretação de representações sociais com a metodologia reflexiva no processo interpretativo. Para compreender a formação das representações sociais, buscou-se estabelecer uma relação entre termos vinculados ao conceito de desenvolvimento territorial sustentável - como agroecologia, ecologia, sustentabilidade, desenvolvimento e território - e as percepções, expressões e vivências dos entrevistados. Portanto, não se utilizou um procedimento dedutivo, nem simplesmente indutivo, mas abdutivo, recursivamente, visando evitar unilateridades. Utilizou-se, inclusive, de estilo narrativo como recurso de descrição/interpretação dos dados. A interpretação dos dados foi realizada utilizando-se os quatro estágios do processo interpretativo. O primeiro estágio serviu para tomar conhecimento do material empírico a fazer as categorizações iniciais; no segundo estágio foi feita uma reflexão dos achados no primeiro, uma categorização referenciada e uma interpretação teórica do material empírico. No terceiro estágio foi realizada a análise integradora e uma interpretação geradora e crítica com especial atenção às dimensões políticas e ideológicas da pesquisa; no quarto e último estágio foi realizada uma interpretação crítica e reflexiva, repassando todos os demais estágios verticalmente, refletindo sobre a linguagem dos textos e sobre o processo de legitimação e autoridade do pesquisador. Por intermédio do processo interpretativo/reflexivo, conclui-se que as principais representações sociais do desenvolvimento territorial sustentável, associadas às categorias criadas são: vida e saúde; preservação do meio natural; obter sustento por meio da natureza sem prejudicá-la; progresso socioeconômico e tecnológico, e que o campo está isolado e depende das cidades. As reflexões realizadas deixaram como principais inquietações: a) concentração da produção agroecológica em poucas famílias na região estudada; b) necessidade de conciliação dos interesses dos diversos atores envolvidos no processo de produção, logística e comercialização dos produtos orgânicos. Por último, mas não menos relevante, cabe destacar a representação social dos jovens como mão de obra necessária para as propriedades familiares, o que está em confronto (tensão) com a representação social sobre os estudos como processo que prepara os jovens para trabalhar na cidade. Esta tensão entre representações revela uma contradição nas políticas públicas de combate ao êxodo rural na medida em que as escolas mantêm seus currículos descontextualizados da realidade rural.<br> / Abstract: This master's degree thesis have as it objective to comprehend the formation of socials representations about sustainable territorial development, having as focus the members of the Grupo da Rede Ecovida de Agroecologia, of the town of Nova Trento-SC. This dissertation is the result of a qualitative research, in which were used, as data collecting technique, documentary analysis, direct observations and in-depth interviews with the agricultures, their families and the workers who supports them. As a theoretical and epistemological reference, we highlight the contributions of Ignacy Sachs in the conceptualization of sustainable territorial development, and Serge Moscovici's Social Representations Theory, which was the base of the methodology utilized, together with Ângela Arruda (in regards to the interpretation of social representations) and Alvesson and Skoldberg (in regards to the reflexive methodology). In the interpretative process, it was pursued to mix the interpretation of social representations methodology with reflexive methodology. To comprehend the formation of these social representations, we sought to establish a connection between the attached terms and the concept of sustainable territorial development - as agroecology, ecology, sustainability, development and territory - and the perceptions, expressions e life experiences of the respondents. Therefore, a deductive procedure was not utilized, neither a simply intuitive one, but abductive, recursively, as a way to avoid one-sidedness. It was used a narrative style as a means to describe/interpretation of data. The interpretation of data was realized through the four stages of the interpretative process. The first stage was used to acknowledge the empirical data and to make initial categorizations; in the second stage an observation of the first stage's findings was made, along with a referenced categorization and a theoretical interpretation of the empiric material. In the third stage it was realized an integrative analysis and a critic and generative interpretation with special attention devoted to the political and ideological dimensions of the research. In the fourth and last stage it was realized an critic and reflexive interpretation, rethinking all of the other stages, in a vertical fashion, reflecting about the languages of the texts e about the process of legitimation and authority of the researcher. Via the interpretative/reflexive process, it is perceived that the major social representations of sustainable territorial development, associated with the categories created are: life and health; nature and environment's preservation; be able to make a living of nature without endangering the planet; progress, economic improvement and technology and, that the country is isolated and dependent of the cities. The reflections realized leave as the main worrying issues: a) the concentration of the production of agroecological products in few of the families in the region studied; b) the necessity of harmonization of the various interests of the persons involved in the processes of production, logistics and commercialization of the organic products. Lastly, but by no means of lesser importance, it is noteworthy the social representation of the youth as a necessary labor force in the families' properties, which is on confrontation (tension) with the social representation about education as a process that prepares the young people to work in the city. This tension between representations reveals a contradiction in the public policies of combat to rural exodus in the way that schools maintain their curricular structures decontextualized with the rural realities.
