This is a study aimed at investigating the use of digital tools in mathematics teaching by mathematics teachers and special educators in support of pupils. I delimit my purpose for the use of digital tools as part of an additional adjustment. In my theory, I have different chapters describing the research on digital tools and support efforts that demonstrate that digital tools such as extra adjustment enhance the students' knowledge development and their motivation. My result shows how mathematics teachers and special educators use digital tools as additional adaptation in the regular mathematics education. The result shows that mathematics teachers mainly use digital tools as additional adaptation to make the students more motivated and also to give them the opportunity to view mathematical methods from another perspective. In my discussion, I critically review the results against previous research. It shows that mathematics teachers' motives for digital tools are consistent with what scientists say, that digital tools in teaching are motivating to the students.
