Syfte och frågeställningar Denna undersökning syftar till att ur ett genusperspektiv undersöka om elitidrottande tjejers kroppsuppfattning påverkas av sociala medier. Detta har genomförts med hjälp av följande frågeställningar: 1. Hur ser användningen av sociala medier ut bland elitidrottande tjejer? 2. Hur presenterar tjejerna sig på sociala medier? 3. Hur upplever tjejerna att de påverkas av kroppsidealet som framställs på sociala medier? Metod Frågeställningarna har besvarats genom en kvalitativ metod där det har genomförts sex semistrukturerade intervjuer med elitidrottande tjejer på gymnasiet där bekvämlighetsurvaletanvändes. För att analysera resultatet har genusteorin använts och diskussionen tolkats utifrån ett behavioristiskt perspektiv. Resultat Resultatet visar att informanterna använder sig av sociala medier upp till fyra timmar per dagoch detta framförallt vid transporter, när de är uttråkade och för att kommunicera med vänner.När respondenterna publicerar material på sina egna kanaler väljer de att framställa sigutifrån det de menar är sin bästa sida, vilket vanligtvis inte speglar den verklighet som tjejerna lever i. Det beror på att de lägger stor vikt vid reaktionerna som kommer med en publicering, i form av likes, kommentarer och följare. Flertalet av de intervjuade beskriver att sociala medier har en stor påverkan på vardagen och att det kan medföra en rad olika konsekvenser, bland annat ätstörningar och jämförelsebeteenden. Slutsats Slutsatsen av studien är att elitidrottande tjejer på gymnasiet, som intervjuats för dennaundersökning, påverkas av de kroppsideal som finns på sociala medier. Detta beror framförallt på mängden bilder som florerar på kvinnor som representerar ett ouppnåeligt idealpå exempelvis Instagram. Genusteorin menar att idealen och förväntningarna kan förklaras genom samhällets konstruktion av vad som anses vara kvinnligt respektive manligt. / Aim This study aims to investigate from a gender perspective whether elite sports girls are affected by body perception of elite sports girls is affected by social media. This has been done with the help of the following questions: 1. What does the use of social media look like among elite girls? 2. How do the girls present themselves on social media? 3. How do the girls feel that they are influenced by the body ideal that is presented on socialmedia? Method The questions have been answered through a qualitative method where six semi-structuredinterviews have been conducted with elite sports girls in high school where the convenienceselection was used. To analyze the result, the gender theory has been used and the discussioninterpreted with the help of the behaviorist perspective. Results The results show that the informants use social media for up to four hours a day, especially during transport, when they are bored and to communicate with friends. When respondents publish material on their own channels, they choose to present themselves on the basis of what they think is their best side, which usually does not reflect the reality in which the girls live. This is because they attach great importance to the reactions that come with a publication, in the form of likes, comments and followers. Most of the interviewees describe that social media has a great impact on everyday life and that it can have a number of different consequences, including eating disorders and comparative behaviors. Conclusion The conclusion of the study is that elite sports girls in high school, who were interviewed for this survey, are influenced by the body ideals found on social media. This is mainly due to the number of photos that abound on women who represent an unattainable ideal on, for example, Instagram. Gender theory believes that this can be explained by society's construction of what is considered to be female and male, respectively.
