Teve por objetivo geral investigar as representações sociais dos professores dos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental da rede municipal de ensino de Regente Feijó-SP a respeito de seu papel na atual escola pública democratizada e complexa. Como objetivos específicos, buscamos caracterizar o perfil dos professores que atuam nessa escola, conhecer o que pensam esses profissionais a respeito de seu papel na escola pública e investigar as dificuldades enfrentadas por eles para uma atuação de qualidade. Assim, esperamos, por meio desta pesquisa, colaborar para a reflexão sobre a complexidade do papel docente, esclarecendo sobre a importância da formação inicial na construção de um professor de fato competente, comprometido com a educação de qualidade para todos, empenhado na constituição de saberes e de sua profissionalidade. Para tanto, nossa pesquisa adotou a abordagem qualitativa de caráter descritivo-interpretativo. A coleta de dados se deu por meio de questionário composto de questões abertas e fechadas, além das solicitações de evocação de palavras para as expressões “papel do professor no passado” e “papel do professor hoje”... / This work is entitled Social representations of the municipal teachers of Regente Feijó - SP about his role in the current public school and is linked to the research line Public Policy , School Organisation and Training of Teachers . The purpose was to investigate the social representations of teachers in the early years of elementary education in municipal schools Regente Feijó - SP about his role in the current complex and democratized public school. As specific objectives , we attempted to characterize the profile of teachers working at the school , knowing what they think these professionals about their role in public school and investigate the difficulties faced by them for a performance quality . Hope through this research we contribute to the reflection on the complexity of the teaching role , explaining the importance of initial training in building a competent teacher in fact , committed to quality education for all, engaged in the creation of knowledge and of the your professionalism. To this end, our research adopted a qualitative descriptive approach - interpretative character .
