This qualitative case study will focus on Sweden’s corona strategy because of the different path the state took. The main question that is to be answered is what kind of factors was the main reason that made the Swedish government let the Swedish public health authority, Folkhälsomyndigheten, get the main reasonability to lead Sweden in this pandemic instead of the government and what types of consequences it gave. This case study will look at aspects such as crisis, handling crisis and the management organization. The four questions that will be answered to get a result are: How is the Swedish organization organized? How shall the management model function in crisis times, in this case a pandemic? What type of roll those the health department have in a pandemic? And lastly, how did Sweden’s crisis plan look like for a world crisis such as Covid-19? The method that has been used for this study is a qualitative case study. The result of this study shows that the factors that made the Swedish public health authority gain much of the responsibility was because of the Swedish management model function in crisis times and the Swedish organization.
