Previous issue date: 2006 / The present research deals with the participation of active elderly people in digital inclusion workshops and its effects on the intellectual performance and depressive symptomatology among them. The study was developed following the quantitative approach, under an experimental form of study, with only one group. The sample was composed by 32 elderly people, aged 60-82 years old, with diverse education levels. The data were collected through the Nonverbal Intelligence Test (NIT), and by the Beck’s inventory, and at the point of 12 months. The gross nonverbal intelligence scores (factor g) and depressive symptomatology indicators presented a significant difference after the activity, suggesting that it may have the potential to develop nonverbal intelligence and decrease depressive symptomatology indicators. Thus, it was possible to confirm the hypothesis: “There is a significant difference among the results obtained by elderly people before and after they took part in digital inclusion workshops, both in the nonverbal intelligence test (factor g/INV) and in the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). ”
