The purpose of this paper is to acknowledge similarities and differences between what teachers are educating their students about and what textbooks contains in relation to the Swedish national minority languages (Finnish, Lappish, Yiddish, Romani and Meänkieli). The methods in the study are semi-structured interviews and textual analysis. The result shows a variety in how much space the minority languages are given in the three analyzed textbooks and a variety between how much time the five different teachers are giving the minority languages. In addition to this one can see that at least three of the teachers are using extra material such as movies, books, or websites in their education to give the students another perspective than the ones in the textbooks.
