Este trabalho propôs-se a discutir o descentramento da identidade, que é próprio do sujeito moderno. Para tanto, foram colhidas cinco entrevistas - sendo duas submetidas à análise descritiva - realizadas com migrantes radicados em Joinville (SC) nas últimas três décadas, atraídos pela crescente oferta de empregos devido à industrialização da cidade. Recorreu-se ao método da Análise do Discurso (AD) para identificar as marcas linguísticas que configuram o deslocamento da identidade do homem do campo inserido no contexto urbano e o descentramento da identidade experimentado por ele. Os resultados desta pesquisa evidenciaram um sujeito cindido, marcado pela fluidez que é constitutiva da identidade, ao mapear suas experiências de vida na cidade e no campo. Esse aspecto da identidade é um exemplo das consequências da modernidade a que se está sujeito. / The globalization has imposed on the modern subject a process of constant changes in his or her social relations, and thus in his or her identity. This study set out to discuss the decentering of the identity, which is inherent in the modern subject. To accomplish this, two of five interviews were descriptively analyzed. The interviewees were migrants living in Joinville (SC) for the last three decades, attracted by the increased job opportunities which arose from the industrialization of the city. The Discourse Analysis Method was used to identify the linguistics marks that configure the displacement of the identity of the person from the country inserted into the urban context and the identity decentering experienced by him or her. The results show evidence of the existence of a split subject, marked by fluidity, which constitutes the identity, by mapping his or her life experiences in the city and on the country. This aspect of the identity is an example of the consequences brought by the modernity and which one may undergo.
