No AVC infantil, entre tantas seqüelas possíveis, pode existir as de linguagem, dependendo de determinados fatores. Objetivos: Avaliar a linguagem e seus aspectos isolados no AVC infantil e associar com a idade na lesão, hemisfério comprometido e presença ou ausência de epilepsia. Métodos: Estudo transversal de avaliação observacional da linguagem com base em tabela de desenvolvimento normal. Os pais ou responsáveis responderam questionário de caracterização epidemiológica. Resultados: Foram avaliadas 32 crianças e adolescentes entre oito meses e dezenove anos. 21 (65,6%) apresentaram alteração de linguagem, havendo diferença estatisticamente significativa quanto à idade no momento da lesão (p<0,05). Os aspectos mais alterados foram a fonologia, semântica e sintática. Conclusão: Constatou-se uma persistência de alterações do aspecto semântico o que é um alerta para detecção precoce de problemas na aprendizagem e desenvolvimento futuro. / In child stroke, among so many possible sequels, there can be that of language, depending on certain factors. Objectives: It evaluate the language and yours isolated aspects in the AVC childlike and associate with the age in the AVC, hemisphere committed and presence or absence of epilepsy. Methods: Cross-sectional study of observacional evaluation of the language based in table of normal development. The parents or responsible answered questionnaire of characterization epidemiológica. Results: Thirty-two (32) children and adolescents between eight months and nineteen years were evaluated. Twenty-one (21) (65.6%) had language change, with statistically significant difference with regard to the age at the time of the injury (p<0.05). The most changed aspects were phonology, semantics and syntactic. Conclusion: There was presence of changes of semantic aspect, which is a warning for early detection of problems in learning and future development.
