El turismo está presente en distintas actividades económicas, propulsor del desarrollo de localidades y países, ofrece a los viajeros distintos tipos de turismo y también distintas actividades para cada tipo. En el Perú la oferta turística es variada por los numerosos atractivos naturales y culturales con los que cuenta. Si bien la tasa de crecimiento de turistas no es exponencial, es vital buscar los medios que permitan escalar posiciones sin poner en riesgo los atractivos turísticos y su entorno. Machu Picchu el destino por el que más turistas visitan el país; sin embargo, uno de los factores más desafiantes es el de transporte. Puntos, como: vías e infraestructura, medios de transporte, costos y servicio brindado, son materia de debate. Es por eso por lo que se considera a la ampliación del sistema de transporte como la opción más eficiente; y que ha de generar un impacto positivo en el turismo. Con el propósito de obtener la información adecuada, que permita analizar e interpretar resultados, se optó por utilizar entrevistas a profundidad y cuestionarios en segmentos involucrados con el sector turismo. Los hallazgos encontrados dirigen la atención en buscar el desarrollo sostenible del turismo y calidad en toda actividad turística. Finalmente se concluye que la ampliación del sistema de transporte impacte de manera positiva en el turismo receptivo; sin embargo, se debe dirigir la atención a desarrollar otros atractivos turísticos para no saturar uno de los patrimonios más importantes de la humanidad. / Tourism is present in different economic activities, driving the development of localities and countries, offers travelers different types of tourism and also different activities for each type. In Perú, the tourist offer is varied by the numerous natural and cultural attractions that it has. While the growth rate of tourists is not exponential, it is vital to find the means to scale up without jeopardizing tourist attractions and their surroundings. Machu Picchu, the destination through which more tourists visit the country; However, one of the most challenging factors is transportation. Points, such as: roads and infrastructure, means of transportation, costs and service provided, are a matter of debate. That is why the expansion of the transportation system is considered the most efficient option; and that it must generate a positive impact on tourism. In order to obtain the adequate information, which allows analyzing and interpreting results, it was decided to use in-depth interviews and questionnaires in segments involved with the tourism sector. The findings found direct attention in seeking the sustainable development of tourism and quality in all tourist activity. Finally, it is concluded that the expansion of the transport system has a positive impact on receptive tourism; However, attention should be directed to developing other tourist attractions so as not to saturate one of the most important patrimonies of humanity. / Tesis
