Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, com o objetivo de caracterizar a morfo-anatomia defolhas e ramicaules identificando caracteres diagnósticos que possam ser utilizados nadistinção entre os gêneros e as espécies, auxiliando futuros trabalhos de taxonomia esistemática do grupo, detectando possíveis estratégias adaptativas. Entre os caracteresmorfo-anatômicos, que puderam ser utilizados na distinção de espécies e gêneros podesedestacar: espessura e ornamentações da cutícula, formato das células epidérmicas,presença ou ausência de tricomas glandulares em depressões da epiderme, disposição domesofilo, ausência de barras de espessamento nas células do mesofilo, posição dosfeixes vasculares em relação ao mesofilo, presença ou ausência de feixes diferenciadosno bordo foliar, presença ou ausência de cristais, compostos fenólicos e óleos nomesofilo ou na epiderme, morfologia da folha e do ramicaule em secção transversal,presença ou ausência de uma camada subepidérmica esclerenquificada nos ramicaules.Os dados morfo-anatômicos obtidos mostraram diferenças significativas entre osgêneros Acianthera e Anathallis e entre Acianthera e Specklinia. Os gêneros Anathallise Specklinia não apresentaram diferenças significativas após a referida análise, porcompartilharem várias características em comum. <br> / Abstract : This work we analyzed sixteen epiphytic species of the subtribe Pleurothallidinae (Orchidaceae), of the genera Acianthera Scheidw., Anathallis Barb. Rodr. e Specklinia Lindl.: Acianthera exartculata (Barb.Rodr.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, A. glanduligera (Lindl.) Luer, A. luteola (Lindl.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, A. macropoda (Barb.Rodr.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, A. panduripetala (Barb.Rodr.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, A. pubescens Lindl., A. saundersiana (Rchb.f.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, A. serpentula (Barb.Rodr.) F.Barros., Anathallis kleinii (Pabst) Luer, A. microgemma (Schltr. ex Hoehne) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, A. obovata (Lindl.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, A. rubens (Lindl.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, with the objective of characterize the morpho-anatomy ramicaules leaves and to identify diagnostic characters that can be used to distinguish the genera and species, helping future studies of taxonomy and systematics of the group, detecting possible adaptive strategies. Among the morphological and anatomical characters, which could be used to distinguish species and genera could ever stand out: thickness and ornamentation of the cuticle, epidermal cell shape, presence or absence of glandular depressions of the epidermis, mesophyll provision, absence of thickening bars of mesophyll cells, vascular bundle position in relation to the mesophyll, presence or absence of board bundles at different leaf, presence or absence of crystals, phenolic compounds and oils in the mesophyll cells or in the epidermis, leaf morphology and ramicaule in cross section, presence or absence of a layer in the subepidermal esclerenquificada ramicaules. The morpho-anatomical data showed significant differences between the general Acianthera and Anathallis and between Acianthera and Specklinia. The genera Anathallis and Specklinia not significantly different after that review, they share several common features.
