Como instrumentos de medida utilizou-se o Cancer Appetite and Symptom Questionnaire (CASQ), Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy - General (FACT-G), o European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer - Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) e o... / Objectives: to perform a cultural adaptation of the Cancer Appetite and Symptom Questionnaire (CASQ), into Portuguese, and evaluate its psychometric properties on a sample of Brazilian cancer patients. Evaluate the psychometric properties of CASQ when applied to sample United Kingdom (UK) cancer patients and check their invariance front of the Brazilian sample. To present a proposal for evaluating the impact of cancer and treatment on quality of life among cancer patients. To estimate the energy and macronutrient intakes of cancer patients and their relationship with the patients' demographic and clinical characteristics, and to estimate the contribution of food intake and appetite to the impact on the patients' quality of life. Methods: Face validity, content and construct (factorial and convergent) were estimated. For all models were performed confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and the indices used chisquare ratio by degrees of freedom (χ2/df), comparative fit index (CFI) goodness of fit index (GFI) and root mean square error of aproximation (RMSEA). Convergent validity was analyzed by Average Variance Extracted (AVE). Reliability was estimated by the Composite Reliability (CR) and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient (α). The factorial invariance was estimated by multigrupos analysis (∆χ2). To define the best model we used the contents of the theory of information (Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), Browne-Cudeck Criterion (BCC) and Bayes Information Criterion (BIC). As measuring instruments used the Cancer Appetite and Symptom Questionnaire (CASQ), Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy - General (FACT-G), the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer - Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) and the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Statistical significance of causal paths (β) was analyzed using z-tests, and sample adjustment ...
