Klimatförändringar en utmaning för lärare i skolan. : En kvalitativ undersökning om lärares kunskaper och hur de undervisar om klimatförändringar.

In today's world, we are experiencing one of the most serious threats to humanity: Climate change. Climate change is an urgent climate emergency. The situation with climate change is profound, and every social actor must be involved to be able to fight this issue. Schools are required to implement lessons on climate change, which places higher demands on teachers, to provide students with a good foundation of knowledge. The study will examine how teachers are teaching about climate change. As a result, this led to the following questions to be answered: “What factors can influence teaching about climate change?” and “How is teaching about climate change affected by teachers' and students' feelings about the subject?”.A qualitative methodology with semi-structured interviews with three high school teachers in Blekinge was used to address the goal. The findings show that teachers believe that teaching about climate change is interesting and challenging, but above all important to students. Teachers are concerned about climate change, but it is not something they are affected by daily.Structure of the teaching the respective teachers use teacher-led teaching but also very student-centered teaching, where the teachers use a lot of debates and group discussions where the students can solve problems and think critically.Teachers believed in the importance of educating, preparing, and teaching their students about climate change for the future.
