"Dom säger med såhär hög röst" - En intervjustudie om barns uppfattningar om och upplevelser av pedagogers agerande i konfliktfyllda situationer i förskolan

The aim of this study is to examine how children perceive teachers attitudes and perceive how they act around conflicted situations in preschool. In order to examine children’s perceptions, the methodology were focused around interviews with children. Children spend a lot of time in preschool and their relationships with both other children and their teachers affect their social and emotional ability and also their future years of school. Childhood Sociology is a new research theory which is out to approach children’s perspective. Doing research with children instead of about children gives us an opportunity to see the world as children see and experience it. Children are social human beings from birth and they are constructed within the social environment they live in. Research have come to the conclusion that children’s perceptions and experiences of teachers differ based on the relationship they have developed towards them. Children who have developed a close relationship to their teachers tend to have a more positive perception of them than children with a more inferior relationship to their teachers. Researchers also states that teachers often have a picture of the ideal child and based on the children’s behavior the teacher tend to treat them differently. Girls’ and boys’ perceptions differ, were girls usually have a more positive picture of their teachers than the boys do. According to the girls the reason is because they accept the teachers rules more than the boys do. The result of this study agrees in many ways with what earlier research say. Based on the children’s perceptions and experiences of their teachers in this study, we can conclude that their teachers don’t take children’s perspective in mind. Teachers who are kind, listen to the children and treat them fairly are not by surprise more liked by the children than teachers who are angry, shouts and blames the wrong person.
