Tyrimo problema: neapibrėžtos vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių įsidarbinimo problemos ir jų sprendimo būdai.
Tyrimo objektas: vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių įsidarbinimo problemos.
Tyrimo tikslas: išskirti vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių įsidarbinimo problemas ir pateikti jų sprendimo būdus.
Tyrimo uždaviniai:
1. apibrėžti karjeros projektavimo svarbą mokymosi visą gyvenimą kontekste;
2. apibrėžti karjeros sampratos teorinius aspektus;
3. apibūdinti esamą vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių įsidarbinimo situaciją Lietuvoje ir Europos Sąjungos šalyse narėse;
4. atskleisti vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių įsidarbinimo problemas;
5. pateikti rekomendacijas vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių įsidarbinimo problemų sprendimui.
Teoriniai tyrimo metodai: mokslinės literatūros, vadovėlių, mokslinių straipsnių, dokumentų, įstatymų ir teisės aktų analizė, siekiant apibrėžti karjeros projektavimo svarbą mokymosi visą gyvenimą kontekste, apibrėžti karjeros sampratos teorinius aspektus, apibūdinti situaciją susijusią su vyresnio amžiaus bedarbiais.
Empiriniai tyrimo metodai. Siekiant atskleisti vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių įsidarbinimo problemas buvo parengta anketa vyresnio amžiaus bedarbiams.
Magistro darbą sudaro įvadas ir dvi pagrindinės dalys: teorinė ir empirinė.
Tyrime dalyvavo 100 Joniškio darbo biržoje registruotų vyresnio amžiaus bedarbių. Tyrimas atliktas 2008 metų spalio – lapkričio mėn.

The aim of research - to define the difficulties faced by the unemployed senior people while looking for a job and determine the ways for their solution.
The tasks of research::
1. to define the relevance of career designing in the context of lifelong learning;
2. to define the theoretical aspects of career concept;
3. to describe the situation of employment of the unemployed senior people in Lithuania and European Union countries;
4. to reveal the problems of employment of the unemployed senior people;
5. to provide recommendations for solving the employment problems of the unemployed senior people.
The theoretical methods of research: the analysis of the scientific sources, textbooks, scientific articles, documents and legislation has been used to determine the relevance of career designing in the context of lifelong learning as well as to define the theoretical aspects of career concept and to describe the situation of unemployed senior people in labour market.
The empirical methods of research: questionnaire has been used to reveal the problems of employment of the unemployed senior people.
