Previous issue date: 2012-08-30 / The study presented in this thesis, undertaken in the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), was aimed at assessing High School students' level of interest in learning mathematics through technology-assisted modeling. This work is comprised of four parts (maps). The identification map consists of justification, objectives and methodological procedures. The theoretical map explains three approaches suggested by the support literature: Interest measurement, Mathematical Modeling and Information and Communication Technologies. The field map shows the organization of the process as well as the development and implementation of educational activities. The empirical data used for the map were obtained from work carried out with a group of 14 first-year High School students at a Porto Alegre (RS) public school. All subjects took part in the study as volunteers during out-of-school time. In the analytical map, which was based on a quantitative analysis of a case-study, the theoretical and field maps were superimposed, allowing for the identification of moments of low and high levels of student interest during the three phases of the model. In the end, out of 14 students, 5 had a graphical model available. All displayed interest in the experiences throughout the process, which allowed them to learn how to conduct research. / Nesta disserta??o, desenvolvida junto ao Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Educa??o em Ci?ncias e Matem?tica, da Pontif?cia Universidade Cat?lica do Rio Grande do Sul, ? apresentada uma pesquisa cujo objetivo foi analisar o interesse dos estudantes do Ensino M?dio em aprender matem?tica por meio da modela??o integrada ? tecnologia. Divide-se em quatro etapas Mapas. No mapa de identifica??o constam justificativa, objetivo e procedimentos metodol?gicos da pesquisa. O mapa te?rico explana a literatura suporte referente ?s tr?s vertentes te?ricas: Interesse, Modelagem Matem?tica e Tecnologias de Informa??o e Comunica??o. No mapa de campo, fez-se a organiza??o do processo, a elabora??o e a aplica??o das atividades pedag?gicas. Os dados emp?ricos foram obtidos a partir do trabalho realizado com um grupo de 14 estudantes do 1o ano do Ensino M?dio de uma Escola P?blica do munic?pio de Porto Alegre (RS). Eles participaram como volunt?rios em hor?rio extraclasse. No mapa de an?lise, sob an?lise qualitativa realizada a partir de um estudo de caso, fez-se a intera??o entre os mapas te?rico e de campo, o que permitiu identificar momentos de interesse e desinteresse dos estudantes durante as tr?s fases da modela??o. Ao final, desses 14 estudantes, cinco deles dispunham de um modelo gr?fico e demonstraram interesse durante todo o processo nas experi?ncias e nas rela??es, o que permitiu que aprendessem a pesquisar.
