Previous issue date: 1997 / Resumo: Procedendo a um estudo textual e discursivo do verbo, demonstramos como as formas que expressam futuridade (formas sintéticas: I-rel-I-ra/ e l-ria/, perifrásticas: principalmente ir+infinitivo e o presente futuro) se realizam na construção do texto falado no português brasileiro, verificando seus valores
temporais, modais e aspectuais como também o seu contexto de ocorrência. Apesar das marcas, a força e a produtividade do tempo verbal futuro estão nas diversas formas de que a língua portuguesa se utiliza para expressá-Io. Enquanto a forma sintética ocorre em contextos discursivos formais e injuntivos, a forma perifrástica e o presente-futuro são irrestritamente mais usadas na fala informal espontânea. Nesse contexto, ir + infinitivo é mais freqüente, superando I-rel-I-ra/, que está em declínio. O que as distingue, fundamentalmente, é a noção aspectual prospectiva de relevância do presente implícita na forma perifrástica. Respeitadas as diferenças, estabelecidas, na maioria das vezes, pelo discurso, a forma ir+ infinitivo é tão temporal/modal quanto a sintética, o que define o seu status no sistema verbal do português. Nessa mesma esteira, diantç da irrelevância da flexão temporal do presente-futuro, constatamos que a expressão temporal futura não se dá apenas pelo acréscimo de morfemas típicos a um radical mas que outros fatores lingüísticos (sintático-semânticos) se combinam para a sua realização. O desencadeamento do caráter prospectivo da forma presente do indicativo em contextos futuros, enfatizando a relevância do presente do falante, ocorre a partir da interação entre o radical verbal, conforme sua natureza semântica, a flexão, segundo a situação discursiva, e o marcador temporal / Abstract: In a textual and discoursive study of the verb tense we demonstrate how the forms which express futurity (synthetic forms: I-rel-I-ral and l-ria/, futurate I structures: mainly ir+injinitivo, and the praesens pro futuro) occur in the I construction of the oral text in Brazilian Portuguese. Gn doing so, we observed I their temporal, modal and aspectual values as well as their context of occurrence. Despite the "marks" of the future tense, its force and productivity are in the several forms found in portuguese to express it. While the sinthetic form occurs in formal and injunctive contexts, the periphrastic form and the praesens pro futuro are unrestrictedly much more used in the spontaneous, informal oral speech. In this context, ir+infinitivo is more frequent, surpassing /-re/-/-ra/, which is declining. Basically what distinguishes them is the prospective aspectual notion of present relevance underlying the periphrastic formo After considering all their differences, which are determined by
discourse, we conc1ude that the ir+infinitivo form is as temporal/modal as the synthetic form and has a status in the verbal system üfthe Portuguese language. I Facing the irrelevance of the temporal inflexion of the praesen~ pro I futuro, we realize that not only morphemes added to a stem are responsible for the future temporal expression, but ais o other linguistic factors. The prospective value of the present is triggered by the interaction found among the verbal stem, I according to its semantic values, the inflexion, considering the discoursive
