Previous issue date: 2007 / Resumo: O final da década de 1980 e toda a década de 1990 marcam uma forte abertura da economia brasileira frente ao mercado internacional, impondo-se um novo padrão de organização do território baseado na busca da racionalidade e fluidez. Intensificam-se os fluxos de matéria e informação, a divisão do trabalho e a especialização produtiva. Neste contexto, a moderna logística emerge como elemento de fundamental importância, pois fornece os recursos necessários para racionalizar os ¿circuitos espaciais de produção e os círculos de cooperação¿ no território. A tarefa de inserir competitividade aos circuitos espaciais produtivos cabe, entre outros agentes, aos denominados ¿Operadores Logísticos¿. Além de possuírem um profundo conhecimento da configuração territorial e das bases normativas, os Operadores Logísticos também fazem uso intensivo de tecnologias da informação e modernas técnicas de gerenciamento, podendo agregar valor ao circuito produtivo das empresas-clientes. Isto posto, procuramos analisar no presente trabalho como os Operadores Logísticos contribuem para a redefinição do uso do território brasileiro face ao alargamento dos contextos da globalização / Abstract: The end of the 1980 decade and all the 1990 decade point to a strong opening of the Brazilian economy front to the international market, imposing a new standard of organization of the territory based on the search of the rationality and fluidity. Intensify the matter and information flows, the work division and the productive specialization. In this context, the modern logistic emerges as an element of basic importance, therefore it supplies the resources necessary to rationalize the ¿spatial circuits of production and the cooperation circles¿ in the territory. The task to insert competitiveness to the productive spatial circuits fits, among others agents, to the called ¿Logistic Operators¿. Besides having a deep knowledge of the territorial configuration and the normative bases, the Logistic Operators also makes an intensive use of information technologies and modern management techniques, being able to add value to the productive circuit of the company-customers. Thus, in the present work we tried to analyze as the Logistic Operators contribute for the redefinition of the use of the Brazilian territory face to the widening of the globalization contexts / Mestrado / Análise Ambiental e Dinâmica Territorial / Mestre em Geografia
