Bakgrund: Det är en lång process för patienterna att behandlas för trycksår. Det är både en psykisk och fysisk utmaning, inte bara för patienterna utan även för anhöriga. Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa patienters erfarenhet av att leva med trycksår. Metod: Studien var en litteraturstudie, där totalt åtta vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades. Databaser som användes var PubMed och Cinhal. Resultat: Litteraturstudien mynnade ut i två huvudkategorier ”Begränsningar i det vardagliga livet” och ”Pendla mellan förtvivlan och hopp”, med totalt fem underkategorier där patientens upplevelse av lidande hade en stor roll. Konklusion: Trycksår leder till ett lidande för patienterna som vårdas. Att leva med trycksår gör upplevelsen komplext och varierar från person till person även om upplevelserna liknar varandra. Sjuksköterskan roll är att fånga upp patientens lidande och lindra detta. / Background: To be treated for pressure ulcers is a long and painful process. It is a challenge physically and psychologically not only for the patients, but also for their related parties. Aim: The aim of this study was to illuminate patients’ experiences related to life with pressure ulcers. Methods: This study is performed as a literature study, based on eight scientific articles. The databases used where PubMed and Cinahl. Results: Two main categories were found “Restrictions in the daily life” and “Bouncing between doubt and hope”. With a total of five undercategories, the main focus seemed to be on the patients experience of suffering. Conclusion: Pressure ulcers leads to a suffering for the patents. To live with a pressure ulcer makes the experience complex and highly individual, even thou the experiences are mutual to others. The nurse’s roll is to notice the patient’s suffering and relive it.
