Previous issue date: 2003 / Resumo: Este estudo versa sobre a Ginástica Geral, atividade gímnica não competitiva, que visa propiciar o bem estar físico, mental, social e o aumento da interação de seus praticantes. Teve como principal objetivo oferecer um programa de vivência de Ginástica Geral, na proposta do Grupo Ginástico Unicamp, às adolescentes do Externato São João, instituição salesiana de proteção à criança e ao adolescente. Por meio de pesquisa qualitativa buscou identificar e analisar os significados desta vivência para as adolescentes participantes. Para melhor compreender a Ginástica Geral é apresentada a sua abordagem pela Federação Internacional de Ginástica (FIG), sua trajetória no Brasil e no mundo chegando ao Grupo Ginástico Unicamp. Aprofunda-se na concepção e proposta de Ginástica Geral deste Grupo, que se norteia pelos princípios de formação humana e capacitação fundamentados na Biologia do Amor. Trata da Biologia do Amor enfocando seu aspecto educativo. Faz uma análise do Sistema Preventivo de Dom Bosco apresentando o Externato São João e seus adolescentes que participaram da pesquisa. Analisa as convergências entre o sistema preventivo de Dom Bosco e a Biologia do Amor, em três aspectos: diretrizes conceituais, objetivos educacionais e competências necessárias dos educadores. Para a coleta de dados utilizaram-se de relatórios das aulas, observações assistemáticas das mesmas, filmagens, fotografias, diário de campos e entrevistas não padronizadas da modalidade focalizada (LAKATOS; MARCONl, 1991) com as adolescentes participantes. Para a análise das entrevistas optou-se pela técnica de Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin (1977). Como resultados foram identificados quinze categorias de significados relacionadas à formação humana, capacitação e as características da Ginástica Geral. Esses significados expressam as possíveis contribuições dessa prática para as adolescentes e reforçam a viabilidade de desenvolvê-la em instituições sócio-educativas / Abstract: The present study focuses General Gymnastics, a non-competitive gymnic activity, which aims at providing physical, mental and social well-being, as well as the increasing interaction among i15 participan15. 115 main objective is to offer a life experience program in General Gymnastics to adolescen15 from "EXTERNATO SÃO JOÃO", a protective salesian institution for children and adolescen15, according to a plan of the "Grupo Ginástico Unicamp" (Unicamp Gymnastic Group). Through qualitative research, the identification and ana1ysis of the meaning of this life experience to the adolescents, who participated in the program have been achieved. In order to understand General Gymnastics better, its approach is presented by the International Gymnastics Federation as well as i15 development in Brazil and in the whole world, and the way it arrived at the Grupo Ginástico Unicamp. It goes deeper into the conception and proposal of General Gymnastics of this group, which is guided by principIes of formation of human values and abilities, and is based on the Biology of Love, focusing i15 educative aspect. It analyses the preventive system of Don Bosco and presen15 the "Externato São João" and the adolescen15 who participated in the research. It ana1yses the convergence between the preventive system of Don Bosco and.the Biology of Love in three aspec15: conceptual mIes, educational objectives and the required abilities of the educators. Classes reports, non-systematic observation of classes, films, photos, daily reports and non-standard interviews of the focused kind (LAKATOS; MARONI, 1991) with the adolescen15 have been used to gather data "L 'analyse de Contenu" of Bardin (1977) has been chosen to interpret the interviews. Fifteen categories of meanings related to the formation of human values and abilities, and characteristics of General Gymnastics have been identified. These meanings express the possible contribution of this practice to the adolescen15, and reinforce the probability of developing the General Gymnastics activity in social educative institutions / Mestrado / Mestre em Educação Física
