En kunskapsöversikt om barnets delaktighet kring beslut gällande placering i familjehemsvård

The purpose of this thesis is to compile current research knowledge about the child's participation in decisions regarding placement. The aim is to discover if the child's voice is heard in decisions that are about themselves. The thesis is answering the research question: Is the child given the opportunity to speak and is the child involved in decisions regarding family home placements? The undertaken method is a thematic analysis, which means a compilation of current research regarding the child's participation in decisions. To answer the research question has research published between 2000 – 2020 and two theoretical perspectives used, sense of context (KASAM) and attachment theory. This to understand the empirical data. The results of the study show that communication is considered an important part for the children to understand why they have been placed but also their relationship with social workers so that they can be heard. If the children do not get enough information they will be confused and this together with a lack of contact with the social worker leads to a poor self-esteem. Results also show by making children social actors in their lives by involving them in decision-making can strengthen their self-confidence and promote good development.
