Sverige har under många år tagit emot nyanlända från världens alla håll och är idag en av de länder vars utlandsfödda befolkning ökar. Detta har i sin tur fört med sig både möjligheter och svårigheter när bland annat boende och arbete är i fråga. Denna uppsats behandlar integration och segregation med fokus på just arbete och boende för vuxna nyanlända personer i Sverige, i kommunerna Malmö och Kristianstad. Tidigare forskning beskriver svårigheterna för nyanlända att integreras i det svenska samhället, det omfattar bostadsbrist vid bosättning, segregation och diskriminering på arbetsmarknaden. Resultatet visar att det finns goda möjligheter för vuxna nyanlända att integreras både vad gäller arbete och boende, detta är dock inte alltid långvarigt eftersom bristerna som uppstår är problematiska och ansträngande att ta itu med. / For many years, Sweden has received new arrivals from all over the world and is today one of the countries whose foreign-born population is high. This, in turn, has brought both opportunities and difficulties among many things where housing and work are involved. This essay addresses integration and segregation with a focus on specifically work and housing for newly arrived persons in Sweden, followed by Malmö and Kristianstad. Previous researches describes the difficulties for newcomers and to be integrated into the Swedish society, which includes discrimination in the labor market, housing shortages during residence and segregation. The results shows that there are good opportunities for new arrivals to be integrated both systematically and socially but that this is not always long-lasting as the shortcomings that arise are problematic and strenuous to deal with.
