Previous issue date: 2012-01-31 / This study aimed to find among the characteristics of the debentures, as rating, maturity and type of issue, what are the determinants of the yield of such bonds in Brazil. In addition, we inserted two dummies to capture the effect of the 2008 financial crisis on the debentures. We used 327 issues indexed to the IPCA and the DI, which occurred between 2000 and 2011. The results show that besides the rating, variables such as maturity, volume, presence of collateral, the type of issue (CVM Instruction 400 or CVM Instruction 476) and date of issue after the 2008 financial crisis, determine the debentures yield in Brazil. / Este estudo teve por objetivo encontrar dentre as características das debêntures, como rating, prazo e tipo de emissão, quais são os determinantes da remuneração desses títulos privados no Brasil. Além disso, inserimos duas dummies para capturar o efeito da crise financeira de 2008 sobre a remuneração das debêntures. Utilizamos 327 emissões indexadas ao IPCA e ao DI, que ocorreram entre 2000 e 2011. Os resultados nos mostram que, além do rating, variáveis como prazo, volume, existência de garantias, o tipo de emissão (ICVM 400 ou ICVM 476) e data de emissão posterior à crise financeira de 2008, determinam a remuneração das debêntures no Brasil.
