Den digitala vägledare : Digitala verktyg och digitala vägledningstjänsterspåverkan på studievägledning 2019-2021

This study aims to investigate how Study Counsellors at universities in Sweden haveexperienced the change with their work in guidance for students during the covid-19pandemic. The study focused on Study Counsellors work with ICT, InformationCommunication Technology, in guidance during 2019- 2021. In March 2020 when thepandemic spread over the world, all service and guidance for students had to transfercareer-and study guidance available on campus into digital guidance. The result shows howthe distance related career- and study guidance did change for the study counsellors andhow our participants describe both the change and their experience of using ICT inguidance. It is a qualitative study with semi-structured interviews. In conclusion, allparticipants experienced the change from study counselling on campus to work from homefrom a distance, as fast and challenging. Some of the counselors have been more creativeand developed new services and activities for their students and some has been morereserved to get on board and use digital tools in their guidance work. As research show, it isnecessary to develop both digital services and competence in guidance and guidance toolsto keep up with future demands from the public.
