Studiens syfte är att bidra med kunskap om hur nyanställda medarbetare upplever delaktighet, lärande och identitetsskapande med sin arbetsplats när socialisationsprocessen sker oplanerat på distans. Syftet preciseras i följande frågeställningar: hur upplever medarbetare som introduceras på distans sina relationer till kollegor? Vilka upplevelser har medarbetarna av kommunikationen med kollegor när arbetet sker på distans? Samt hur upplever medarbetare sina möjligheter till informellt lärande under distansbaserade förutsättningar? Empirin som ligger till grund är material från sju halvstrukturerade intervjuer. Informanterna hade varit anställda mellan en till elva månader och introduceras på distans till följd av covid-19 restriktioner. Materialet analyserades utifrån en kombination av tematisk- och fenomenografisk analysmetod i relation till studiens teoretiska ramverk vilket är Lave och Wengers teori om praktikgemenskaper. Resultaten diskuterades i relation till tidigare forskning och vår studie visar att informell kommunikation är svår att skapa i en digital kontext, det framkommer att kommunikationen upplevs formell och syftesorienterad. Vidare visar studien att introduktion på distans försvårar möjligheten till relationsskapande med kollegor samt känslan av gemenskap. Resultatet visar ytterligare att introduktion samt arbete på distans kan frambringa en känsla av att vara osynlig. En Introduktion på distans resulterar vidare i svårigheter när det kommer till att ställa frågor. En slutsats som dras från studien är att informell kommunikation i digital kontext är viktigt för att möjliggöra nyanställdas förutsättningar för delaktighet, lärande och identitetsskapande. / The purpose of the study is to contribute knowledge about how newly hired employees experience participation, learning and identification with their workplace when the socialization process takes place at a distance. The purpose is specified in the following questions: how do employees who are introduced at a distance experience their relationships with colleagues? What experiences do employees have of communicating with colleagues when the work takes place at a distance? And how do employees experience their opportunities for informal learning under distance-based conditions? The underlying empiric is material from seven semi-structured interviews. The informants have been employed for one to eleven months and are introduced at a distance due to covid-19 restrictions. The material was analyzed based on a combination of thematic and phenomenographic analysis methods in relation to the study's theoretical framework, which is Lave and Wenger's theory of communities of practice. The results were discussed in relation to previous research and our study shows that informal communication is difficult to create in a digital context, it appears that communication is perceived as formal and purpose-oriented. Furthermore, the study shows that introduction at a distance makes it difficult to create relationships with colleagues and the feeling of community. The results further show that introduction as well as work at a distance can produce a feeling of being invisible. A distance introduction further results in difficulties when it comes to asking questions. A conclusion drawn from the study is that informal communication in a digital context is important to enable new employees' conditions for participation, learning and identification.
